From the lens The Advantages of HE Front Loading Washers.

We're looking at getting a new washing machine and definitely considering the front loader.

I'm lensrolling this to my soap nuts lens, since I no longer use those H.E. detergents you were talking about!
  • TheGreenerMe Dec 21, 2008 @ 9:11 pm | delete
I have one of these but I didn't know that H.E. detergent was sort of a scam...woops, that's a lot of wasted money! Thanks for the tip, that will surely save me a few bucks.

    Well Done! Great lens.

Agree with you totally about the front loader. I have had one now for about 6 months and the amount of water saved is huge. It uses about half the water my top loader used. Also find that washing detergent will last me for one month instead of one week. Quite a saving all round. I don't mind the bending down either. I am a shorty too.

Mine's on a pedestal, no bending required! Great lens!

Great lens! Thank you for the tips. I thought that top one are the better choice because of the capacity of the load but i am happy to be wrong because i own front one!
    5* for you!

PS: Did you know couch covers can be real moneysavers?

I don't have HEs, but I do have frontloading washers, and I love 'em :)

I love my front loader, and I just keep the door open when I am not using it so it can dry out inside.

Great lens! I have been using the HE detergent and will now go back to the cheaper stuff and just use less! Thanks for the tip! :-) 5*

Cleaning is a bollocks and anything which makes life easier I'm all for.

I have one of these and they work great. I leave the door open after every wash to air out the inside and prevent mold growth--seems to work just fine. It uses far less detergent, and we don't have to buy nearly as much as we used to. Great lens!

Great info, I didn't realise there was so much difference between top and front loaders! Good to know :)
