2012 HGTV Dream Home

The Dream Home 2012 Location is outside Salt Lake City, Utah! At River Meadows Ranch. The HGTV Dream Home is a modern, 4,000 sq. ft., western-style ranch home on 2 1/2 acres with the Provo river cutting through it's backyard. It has 3 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths.

I've been keeping you up to date on the developments as I found them from the town, to the address, through the construction, and finally the dream home sweepstakes when they chose a winner. I've had so much fun chronicling past Dream Homes that I thought I'd get a jump on 2012's early.

HGTV's online virtual tour launched Thursday, December 1st. The Sweepstakes started December 29th and ended February 17, 2012. The winner was announced on March 17th.

River Meadows Ranch

River Meadows Ranch, located in Heber Valley, is about 45 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, and 20 minutes from Park City, Utah. The Provo River runs through the development and the Wasatch Mountains are nearby.

Thanks to a comment from RobertM in the Guestbook below I did some more digging. According to The Salt Lake Tribune, the HGTV Dream Home sits on Lots 5 & 6.

Public Tours

The HGTV Dream Home was open for public tours February 2, 2012 - February 26, 2012. They were offered on Thursdays & Fridays from noon to 5:00 pm, and on Saturdays & Sundays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Tickets were $15 per person.
Proceeds went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah.

Does anyone know the approximate taxes and fees associated with the house if you won? It is an amazing home and thank you for the additional information found here! I'm entering anyway and would love to be prepared :P

Well, I was playing with google earth, and mapquest, using satelite pics., and was able to find the undeveloped images of the River Meadows ranch development. Lot 27 is obviously out. The terrain shows it is on a ridge above the river, w/a drop to the water level. Lot 10 is also out. One sat. picture shows a house on lot 10, with a barn. You can clearly see it when you pan around on the Dream House patio pictures. Lots 2& 3, 3,& 4, or 4 & 5 are the most promising locations. I don't believe one lot is large enough to be 2.5 acres; if in fact that is the proper size of the Dream House location. I was able to use ground view with google earth, and match up the mountain ranges, and the river's course with the master BR patio pic., and the entertainment, and hot tub pics. With lots 4 & 5 showing pending sales, I would think this is the spot, with the final sales notice placed when ownership is transferred to the winner.

Do you know what the trim color is that they used? Is it the same throughout? Also do you know the color of the doors?

I believe the interior trim is Pewter Tankard.

The Pella Architect Series Doors and Double Hung Windows are in Auburn Brown.

This house would mean a lot to me......This would be a chance to start a new life and i could finally provide my parents happiness. They have to worry about paying the mortgage. This would also give me a chance to finish college. It would be a dream to owning this house. I pray every night that i would be blessed. If i win this house, it would be the happiest experience that i would ever encounter in my life. We live in a very old house and its still hard to see my parents living paycheck to paycheck. This beautiful home can change my life. I could start a new career in park city, utah and dream the living that HGTV provides. The world is amazing and i'm so thankful everyday that we are giving opportunities like this.
