HIM

HIM was formed in Finland in 1991 by Ville Valo (vocals), Mikko Lindstrom (guitar) and Mikko Paananen (bass). They have since found huge worldwide success with their captivating blend of heavy guitars, stunning melodies and lovelorn lyrics.

HIM's latest album 'Venus Doom' was released on 18 September 2007. The album is available in three versions: the regular version, with 9 tracks; the Special Edition, which includes a bonus disc with 2 extra tracks, plus a special card sleeve; and the Limited Edition, which comes in a case designed to look an an antique book, and also features bonus tracks, and a photo book and some 'polaroid' type photos.

Venus Doom is somewhat heavier in style than much of their earlier material, and is certainly very different to their previous album, 2005's 'Dark Light'. I have to say, I had to listen a few times before it began to grow on me, but it's getting there!
