Hadise represented Turkey with Düm Tek Tek

Hadise reached the final and finished fourth, behind Norway, Iceland and Azerbaijan, ahead of United Kingdom.

Aç%u0131kgöz told Belgian newspapers she wanted to represent Turkey instead of Belgium because she has already won many Belgian awards and also because the Eurovision Song Contest isn't popular in Belgium anymore, whereas it is in Turkey. She also said that she preferred to represent Turkey as it was an internal selection rather than a public voting.

At the start of February 2009 Hadise began travelling Europe as part of her promotional tour for Eurovision. The tour began on February 5 in Malta,and will continue until the May 5, a week prior to the first Eurovision semi-final takes place in Moscow.

Hadise Dum Tek Tek - Eurovision 2009Although Hadise is popular in Europe, her Eurovision Song Contest entry sounds new for the contest according to Turkish listeners and TRT. A while after the Turkish song was announced, TRT made a poll and 65% of fans declared the song was very good, 20% said nice, 9% said not bad and 7% said very bad.

Hadise gives interview to eurovision.tv!

Turkey's entry for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Hadise, was interviewed by eurovision.tv's video team and gave us a glimpse of what to expect from her in Moscow!

The Turkish singer for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Hadise, was internally chosen as Turkey's entry for Moscow. Hadise presented her song Düm Tek Tek during TRT's New Year's show for the first time which was met by approval by both Turkish media and fans.

Hadise was interviewed by eurovision.tv's own Jan Demulder, and revealed lots of things about herself and her participation in Europe's favourite music TV show. She also disclosed that she is going back to Turkey soon to do some extra work on Düm Tek Tek. She also gave a special treat to all the eurovision.tv readers!

Who is Hadise?

Hadise Açıkgöz, (born October 22, 1985 in Mol, Belgium), commonly known as just Hadise, is a popular TMF award winning Belgian/Turkish R&B singer, songwriter and Tv presenter in Turkey and Belgium. She is probably best known for her hit singles "Stir Me Up", "My Body", "Deli Oğlan" and her current hit single "Aşkkolik".

Hadise has so far released two studio albums, "Sweat" & "Hadise", in both Belgium and Turkey, where she has produced many hit singles.

Hadise is known for her experimenting with the R&B genre often blending it in with Turkish pop. Hadise is also to represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
