Hair Removal Laser treatment is when a laser beam is used to remove the excess or unwanted hair from the face or body. The laser treatment is being used widely these days. The laser effectively removes the unwanted hair from any type of skin. There are different types of hair removal laser which are used in this process. A laser produces a light which may differ according to the skin type. This light gets absorbed in the skin and damages the follicle of hair stopping the growth of the hair. The laser slows down the growth of the hair. But if the treatment is taken for long time then it might stop the hair growth completely.

Types of laser: There are five types of Hair Removal Laser systems used for the laser hair removal treatment.

The Ruby laser: It is the first and oldest type of laser. Today the ruby lasers are no longer used. In the period of 1998-2003 there were used predominantly. They can't be used on the people who have dark skin color and also not on the people who are tanned. Because of this the ruby laser has become outdated and less popular.

Alexandrite laser: They are used widely for laser hair removal. It is fast a very effective. Alexandrite laser can be used for all skin types and it can cover large area of the body.

Diode laser: This laser has a dominant effect on the darker skin and less effect on the lighter skin type, fine or white hair. Larger area of body is covered by this laser.

Long pulse Nd: YAG laser: This laser can be used tanned people including all the other skin types. The rate of repetition is fast and large area is covered. It's not effective on the fine hair.

Intense pulsed light devices: These are not lasers but they are equivalent to laser. Same technique of hair removal is used by them as in case of the normal lasers. These devices need skilled technicians to operate them.
