Some Of Mazda's Best Cars
The Japanese motor company, Mazda , is one of the leading international manufacturers and distributors of automobiles in the world. With manufacturing plants worldwide, booming sales, and reliable and long-lived products, Mazda has been a major player on the global field in the motor industry since it started building cars in 1960.

The company has had many design successes and has been responsible for the development of a number of popular vehicles.

The following article is a summary of the top nine most popular Mazda cars produced over the last ten years.

Mazda CX-7 (9) Number ten on the list, the Mazda CX-7 is the smart and stylish looking production version of the MX-Crossport MX-Crossport concept car. A 2006 - 2007 car, the CX-7 is the most popular mid-size crossover SUV model Mazda has ever released.

The Mazda CX-7 (9) comes in three models, listed here from base to top versions, the price of each reflects it's features:

Sport (base version) Touring (upscale version) Grand Touring (top version)

The CX-7 is available from reputable dealerships across the world, from Denmark to South Africa.

Mazda CX-9 (8)
The full-size version of the Mazda CX-7 crossover SUV, the CX-9 in actuality, carries very few of the same platform features as it's smaller cousin. The 2007 CX-9 was the first Mazda to use the 3.5 litre Cyclone V6 engine.

The CX-9, in addition to unparalleled comfort and great leg-stretching space, also comes equipped with great standard safety equipment, Dynamic Stability Control, traction control, Roll Stability Control, front side impact airbags and three row side curtain airbags.

Options include: DVD navigation system, handsfree Bluetooth phone link, backup camera, rear entertainment system with Bose 5.1 surround sound.

Mazda MPV (7)
The Mazda MPV (minivan) was released as part of the Mazda range in 1989 and has seen over a million sales, of it's various versions, since then. A long-standing favourite the Mazda MPV has had regular new models released, based around the successful original design, with various updates to keep it competitive on the ever-changing motor landscape.

So reliable is the vehicle that the original models still experience popular sales at second-hand dealers around the world.

Mazda 5 (6)
Also known as the Mazda Premacy, this is Mazda's compact MPV, the first generation of which came onto the market in 1999. Only the 2005 version-onwards of the Premacy was referred to as the Mazda 5.

The latest Mazda 5 Model is a visually striking mini-minivan and multipurpose family vehicle. It has received many awards, including the 2006 Canadian Car Of The Year award.

Mazda 2 (5)
An exceedingly popular design, and it's not hard to tell why when one looks at the sleek and sporty contours of the latest inception of this small Mazda minivan, the Mazda 2 (also known as the Demio) was originally introduced in 1996 and has undergone several design overhauls since then.

The most recent version of the Mazda 2, the 2007 model, received the 2008 World Car Design Of The Year award and, due to a combination of stunning looks and amazing performance, was one of the most widely anticipated cars of the year. This was the first vehicle to use the Mazda next generation design language which, judging from the reception of this vehicle, is looking to be a great success in dynamic vehicle design, superbly combining aesthetics and functionality.

Mazda MX-5 (4)
A two-seater sport design, the Mazda MX-5 (known as the Miata in North America) in it's most recent design, has succeeded in reviving the "old school" sports car look, with the addition of modern slick design features.

The Mazda MX-5 is the car that breathed new life into the dormant passion for speed and sproty appeal in the modern motorist. A beautiful car, the Mazda MX-5 is also available in coupe convertible for those wanting to experience the true joy of a modern sports car.

Mazda RX-8 (3)
The second sport car on the list, the Mazda RX-8 (successor to the RX-7 revealed in 2001 and met with an excited and impressed response. In 2004 the RX-8
earned itself the spot as the North American Model Year car.

The 2009 model of the RX-8 has just been revealed and it is esily as impressive as previous models, if not more so. A hard car to fault, this vehicle will certainly continue to be an impressive reflection of Mazda's design standards in the years to come.

Mazda 6 (2)
The Mazda 6 replaced the also-popular Mazda 626 in 2002 and has hit over one million sales since that time. The speed at which the car reached the million-sale milestone, when compared to other cars is a testament to it's ability to outperform the competition.

The Mazda 6 is raced in the Sports Car Club Of America's (SCCA) Pro World Challenge Touring Car series. It finished first in the manufacturers championship standings.

Mazda 3 (1)
The Mazda 3 made it's eagerly awaited debut in 2004 and caused a great deal of excitement the world over. Upon it's release, the Mazda 3 quickly became one of the most popular and coveted cars in the world.

A stunning compact car the Mazda 3 is available in two body styles; a four-door sedan and a five-door hatchback. Both styles are stunning representatives of Mazda's ability to design and manufacture the ideal car for the modern commuter.

History behind Mazdas ever changing logo!

Symbol
Corporate mark
Symbol and corporate mark as seen on most Mazda cars from the Mazda R360 until 1975 Between 1975 and 1991, Mazda did not have an official symbol, only a stylized version of their name; the previous blue "m" symbol was still used in some dealerships up until the 1980s, but later on a plain blue square next to the Mazda name was often used on dealer signs and documentation In 1991, Mazda adopted a corporate symbol which was to represent a sun and a flame standing for heartfelt passion. Shortly after the release of the new symbol, the design was smoothed out to reduce its similarity to Renault's. A redesigned symbol was introduced in 1997; it is a stylized "M" meant to show Mazda stretching its wings for the future.

Mazda Power

Just a peak at its scary faster side.

In 1991, a four-rotor Mazda 787B (2622 cc actual, rated by FIA formula at 4708 cc) won the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race outright. The 787B's triumph remains unparalleled, as it remains the only non-piston-engined car ever to win at Le Mans, and Mazda is still the only team from outside Western Europe or the United States to have won at Le Mans - ironically after Nissan had closed down its World Sportscar Championship programme and Toyota had opted to take a sabbatical for most of 1991 in order to develop its 3.5 litre TS010. This led to a ban on rotary engines in the Le Mans race starting in 1992, which has since been rescinded. After the 1991 race, the winning engine was publicly dismantled for internal examination, which demonstrated that despite 24 hours of extremely hard use it had accumulated very little wear.

The Le Mans win in 1991 followed a decade of class wins from other Mazda prototypes, including the 757 and 767. The Sigma MC74 powered by a Mazda 12A engine was the first engine and team from outside Western Europe or the United States to finish the entire 24 hours of the Le Mans race, in 1974. Mazda is also the most reliable finisher at Le Mans (with the exception of Honda, who have entered only three cars in only one year), with 67% of entries finishing. Mazda will return to prototype racing in 2005 with the introduction of the Courage C65 LMP2 car at the American Le Mans Series race at Road Atlanta. This prototype racer uses the Renesis Wankel from the RX-8.

Mazdas have also enjoyed substantial success in World Land Speed competition, SCCA competition, drag racing, pro rally competition (the Familia appeared in the WRC several times during the late '80s and early '90s), the One Lap of America race, and other venues. Wankel engines have been banned for some time from international Formula One racing, as well as from United States midget racing, after Gene Angelillo won the North East Midget Racing Association championship in 1985 with a car powered by a 13B engine, and again in 1986 in a car powered by a 12A engine.

OK let the battle continue!

Pontiac or Mazda

These two have been at it for years and it seems that now Mazda plans on upping the Chevy's electrical Volt! Look it up and you'll be surised what Mazda has in store for us.
