Hand made Christmas Cards - Traditional, Modern and Everything In Between!
Whether you are planning to use Christmas Card Toppers or planning to Rubber Stamp your Christmas images you will find lots of Card Making Ideas here.

Making Handmade Christmas Cards is a time you can go over the top with the glitter and sparkle - and it can never be too much!

Handmade Christmas Cards

It's Never Too Early To Start Card Making for Christmas!

It's official - Card Making is Addictive!

And none more so than making Handmade Christmas Cards!

I don't know what it is but regardless of the time of the year if I spot a Christmas Rubber Stamp in a craft shop, automatically I lose the power to resist and somehow it finds its way into my shopping basket. And what's more I know I'm not alone!

Some card makers happily make their Christmas cards throughout the year whilst others say that by the time January comes they have had their fill of glitter and sparkle.

Whilst years ago all Christmas Cards used to be very traditional, nowadays there is a wide range of themes and colour schemes for you to choose from. Traditional colours are green and red but the modern schemes mix everything from blue and silver to pink and purple.

You can make Handmade Christmas Cards quickly and easily by using Christmas Card Toppers, or you can take some more time and trouble by Rubber Stamping your Christmas image, and then hand colour it.

No matter how you choose to make your hand made cards just enjoy spending the time crafting them.

What you have to remember is that however you make your card the person who receives is will be thrilled that you took the time and trouble to make something especially for them.

Simple But Effective Handmade Christmas Card.

You Don't Have To Over Embellish A Card!

Sometimes when you are making a handmade card you think it has to have lots on it - that's not always the case - sometimes less is more!

For this card I chose a large Christmas Wreath brad and then matt and layered it onto plain white, green and red card,. This element was then simply mounted onto a green pearlescent card blank.

No fuss but it still conveys perfectly the essence of Christmas.

When Making Handmade Christmas Cards Get Yourself Organised!

Produce Your Own Handmade Christmas Cards Without Any Stress.

Producing your own Handmade Christmas Cards is easy as long as you get yourself organised.

Make a list of who you intend to send to and then divide it into 3 sections:

Section 1: Close Family & Friends

Section 2: General

Section 3: Overseas.

So that you won't get fed up just producing one design, pick 3, one for each section.

Your best design should be saved for Section 1, a simpler design for Section 2 ( as generally you will be making more of these), and a design which is easier to post for Section 3.

If you have a lot of Section 2 cards to make try to assemble all the elements first and then put them all together. Although this is a little like a production line it will be far quicker than if you were fully completing each card before moving on to the next one. It will also take the pressure off you if you are panicking because you have left everything to the last minute.

You could even invite some friends over and have a mass card making and chatter session!

Traditional Handmade Christmas Card.

A Modern Twist on Traditional!

This handmade Christmas Card has a traditional feel to it. This is largely due to the Background Papers which have been used.

The central green background paper has been mounted onto red mirror board and the red has been highlighted by using the red and gold spotted bow around the middle of the panel.

A gold coloured peel-off sentiment completes the card.

The colours of red, green and gold add to the traditional feel of this card but the beige background paper, although in a traditional design, adds a subtle modern twist.

Put a Message Upfront!

A Printed Message on the Front - Your Personal Message on the Inside.

This card has a modern feel but has a traditional message on the front.

A modern themed Background Paper has been matt and layered onto a gold effect mat.

The traditional sentiment has been fixed to the front and a gold effect ribbon adds a finishing embellishment.
