I love this site. Found it while browsinng. Have read Harlequins since the seventies and love them - they are relaxing and I remind my husband that I don't watch television and do read heavier genres, so give me a break. I will check in to see what others are saying. Maybe I will get help with a title that I am trying to recall.

That brought back memories! I used to read these books in my younger days and greatly enjoyed it. With the hustle and bustle of working life and childrens' needs, I don't have that luxury anymore. Great lense.

OK, I am a male...but I worked in the book industry for 8 years and romance was always an important section to have the latest books. Great lens and well researched. For the Kindle users, there are always a fair number of free romance novels. I have a couple of Kindle lenses that feature free books. Enjoy your romance books and have a great day.

Rose from new Zealand sent me the following email (am posting it because I don't recall the book, but thought other readers might recognise it):

    Hi

Love your site on Mills and Boon books. I have been trying to find a mills and boon type book for years now and I cannot remember the title or author.

From memory the book was about, of course, a guy wanting to get back together with his wife I think. Her name was Callie and she thought he had been having an affair with his secretary. She over heard the a conversation and was misled about the situation. She leaves and any way he locates her, shifts next door to her and this one night she gets up to make herself a hot drink and ends up tipping it all over herself because she gets a fright to find he has come in to see if she is alright having noticed the light on in the early morning hours.

Any recollection with any romance books you have read?

    Regards
    Rose

Ah ... I come sincerely seeking romance this morning ... ssshhh! Please do not tell anyone. Harlequin will do!

    A very popular series.

I grew up reading Mills and Boon novels and dreamed of being one of their authors. I did manage to get a few manuscripts as far as the editors desk, but looking back even I can see they were pretty bad :o) It is a good way to cut your teeth in the publishing industry.
One of my teen favorites was Charlotte Lamb and I'm a bit sad to hear of her passing.

I enjoy reading Harlequin romances. Great lens!

I'm partial to Betty Neels myself. I see another lensmaster has quite a few Squidoo lenses on Mills and Boon or Harlequin Romances. She made three lenses on Betty Neels.

Helpful to read background on these books and authors. I wouldn't discount the genre. Many authors learn the basics here!

  • Francisca Nworisa Feb 17, 2010 @ 8:53 am | delete
i love reading mills and boon books but it is always impossible for get current ones here in nigeria. Why is it so
  • teatree Feb 17, 2010 @ 10:47 am | delete
Hi Francisca. Am not sure why they don't distribute M&B books in Nigeria. However, you can always try an ebook instead - you should be able to buy them directly from the Mills and Boon websites, or from Amazon. The great thing about ebooks is that you can just download them whereever you are in the world!

  • teatree Mar 30, 2010 @ 12:00 pm | delete
The books category didn't exist when I set up this lens back in 2007 - and am not sre how to transfer category now.

Here's to political incorrectness! and a very complete lens on a subject I know almost nothing about. Now I know just where to come if I long to read about "tender" or sizzling romance. Keep up the good work.
