Yadira Reid is Missed by Her Family and Friends.
A first Christmas Holiday Season without Yadira... Let us continue to love and support the loved ones of Yadira. Keep them in your hearts thoughts as they are grieving and healing.
Yadira was a beautiful 15 year old young lady who lived in Hartford CT. She was going through a lot in her life as well as her family. It is very sad that Yadira took her own life. Her body was found in the Connecticut River by a woman who was passing by. She was Hispanic, with beautiful long dark hair and brown eyes.
Yadira father had died in 2007 and the whole family has been through a lot, and now this happened in January 2009. It is a sad ending for her that the family and loved must heal from, but still they must grieve their loss. I keep you in my hearts thoughts.
This was, is and always will be an emotional lens for me. It is one that has made me cry, broke my heart, caused me to pray for someone I had never met, and has enlarged my heart forever for the family of Yadira Reid.
Grief, Loss and Bereavement are a part of life!
They are something I know too well!
I lost elven people to death in 2003, that's a lot of in one year. Grief is an intense emotion caused by loss. When unresolved, it can lead to acute anxiety and depression, which I had. Usually when we think of loss and the grief process, we think of someone very close to us dying or leaving. When this happens, we experience emotional pain like hurt and sadness. Grief is the natural and normal process that all humans experience when we lose something important to us. The stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. My Experience!
Shelly says:
I remember when Dad died, I wondered if there would ever be a moment that I didn't think of him. Then it gradually became minutes, and hours. It was a couple years before it became a whole day. Grieving takes all the time it takes and after that time does pass, you still have the loss and miss having your loved one in your life. In the end, only the love remains and sweet memories.

I still don't fully understand why my brother took his life. Loseing a loved one is this way is a pain that just never seems to go away. He had just gotten news that he had a cancer and his fear of the moment caused him to choose this permanent solution. Sadly, the cancer he had is treatable and develops very slowly. He didn't even know he had hope.

I have had times in my life where I felt like it was the end of the world. - Someone had a word in season for me than, it was: "The only thing that is the end of the world, is the end of the world." You know what? She was right!

I lived with a family years ago and the little boy was no where to be found for about an hour, we were in an absolute panic until, by chance, I took a second look in his closet and there he was, sleeping soundly and oblivious to our hour of torment. We had been all over the neighborhood, knocking on doors and calling his name. May Yadira be in a safe place until found.

In Memory of Yadira!
You live in our hearts.
~ The Acceptance Stage of the Grief Process ~This is the last stage of the grieving process. Acceptance is not necessarily a happy stage. It is almost void of feeling. It is as if pain is gone and the struggle is over. There is peace, but it does not mean that healing is complete or the feelings of emptiness are gone.

- The summer is nearing an end, and then all the beautiful fall colors will appear for a short while. Fall is one of my favorite times of year, I just wish it would last much longer. ~ To the family and friends of Yadira: I keep you in my hearts thoughts. Its interesting how many times you cross my mind and I find myself sending you warm thoughts, and keeping you all in prayer. I hope things have gotten much better for you as time has passed. I keep the web-page active for you as a point or contact ... and to always remember Yadira and how deeply my life has been touched.
God Bless!

- We are going through grief also. We do not understand why things happen but we know God is in control and was comforted knowing that Jesus wept.
