Is There a Haunted Hotel Near You?
A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging, usually on a short-term basis. Hotels offer a bed, bathroom, tv, phone, and sometimes a ghost or two. Hotels have been around for centuries. With so many people coming and going for so many years, it's inevitable that people have died in hotels. While some hotel owners feel that talk of ghosts will drive away customers, others feel that a ghost is a valuable link to the establishment's history. Many people actually seek out haunted hotels, whether they are ghost hunters, curiosity seekers, or just looking for something exciting to do.
The list below offers a few examples of haunted hotels in the U.S.

Guests have reported encountering a floating dark shadow passing through the rooms of the second floor of this modest hotel. Clouds of etheric vapor have appeared in the dining room, where candles have been known to relight themselves. The ghost of a woman named Mary Phelps, who lost her baby son in a room fire in 1884, has appeared to several witnesses. Another ghost named George keeps returning to his old room at the hotel. Verne Sasek and Ruth Keyes have put up with the ghosts of their quaint old inn for many years. Kennebunk Inn - Kennebunk, ME
The original building here was built in 1791 by Phineas Cole and later expanded to 22 rooms. It became the Kennebunk Inn in the 1940s. After renovations in 1980, ghostly activity began to manifest. Moving and flying crystal goblets, exploding wineglasses behind the bar, disarrayed silverware, and moving chairs are commonplace events here. Owners believe their univited guest is Silas Perkins, a former owner who died in the 18th century. Kennebunk is 11 miles south of Biddeford on U.S. Highway 1, in the southwest corner of Maine.Website
Colonial Inn - Concord, MA
A grayish figure haunts Room 24 on the second floor. The ghost is thought to be a guest who stayed at the inn in the late 1800s. The haunted room is in the oldest section of the inn. Built in 1716 by physician Captain Joseph Minot, the house later became part of an inn that enveloped two other houses. A conventional brick building was added to the rear of the inn in the 1960s. The first sighting of the ghost was on June 14, 1966, when a woman on her honeymoon at the inn was awakened by a shadowy figure four feet from the edge of her bed. The apparation floated to the foot of the bed and vanished. Concord is 18 miles northwest of Boston, north of Highway 2 on Highway 126.Website
