Haunted House Halloween Decoration Tips For Your Ghoulish Party
If you are lucky enough to have a large lawn adjacent to your home, you can use that to construct a spooky graveyard! You can use a dilapidated, worn-out old gate as the gate of the graveyard, and some headstones to represent human skulls! If you have large banyan, pine or mango trees in your lawn you can enhance the spooky effect further by hanging cobwebs, skulls and ghosts from the tree branches! Just imagine what would happen to anyone who walks into that graveyard! I cannot even imagine!
One thing to note is that your graveyard should have minimal lighting, just enough to help people see their way into it!
Now, the fact remains that not all of us are fortunate enough to have a large lawn or even a small garden beside our houses. If you are living in a small condominium, don't be discouraged. You can still scare the hell out of your guests by placing scary Halloween decorations, lights and jack-o-lanterns around the entrance, windows and doors!
Decorating the Indoors: Contrary to the outdoor decorations which could be a little challenging to those who are new to it, decorating the indoors of your house is pretty easy and you can do it within a very short time! There is no need to waste money on hundreds of decorations and props. Be creative and smart.
Pick up a few top decorations, get some haunting music CDs and devilish lighting coupled with a little bit of special effects, and you can create the perfect haunting atmosphere in your home! Couple that with scary Halloween foods and games, and watch the nervous and panting guests!
Special Note on Decoration Lights and Crafts: If you truly want to create a haunting atmosphere, you should use minimal artificial lighting and maximum candle lighting. I generally put candles inside jack-o-lanterns and then put those lanterns all over my house. I also buy a few sets of orange mini lights because sometimes candles are just not enough; however don't buy too many artificial lights as that would spoil the haunting atmosphere!
For crafts, you can buy them for a few dollars from your local dollar or thrift store! Or, if you have creative children at home, you can engage them in the crafting process. In fact, the latter is a much better option as your kids can create several different types of unique ghoulish Halloween crafts and props that you may not even get from your local store!
Happy Halloween and have a spooky party!

4 Halloween Decoration Tips
I guess many would beg to differ with me on this but the fact remains that I wait all throughout the year for only two special occasions: Halloween which comes on October 31 and Christmas that is on December 25. Halloween is special not only to me but also my whole family. We enjoy making Halloween costumes and decorations. In fact, crafting this Halloween stuff is in itself so much fun and exciting! My kids usually do the decorations, and funnily enough the spiders they make only get bigger and scarier with every passing year! In this article I will share some cool Halloween decoration tips with you that are sure to prove useful to you and your family!
Tip#1: Don't forget to put up a graveyard. I am surprised when I see people with large yards attached to their houses forgetting to spice them up even though they make their houses scary. You don't need a lot of props to do this: just some common Halloween decoration props such as spiders, goblins, headstones, etc.
You would also need a broken and dilapidated door. If you have a few large banyan trees in your garden then you can hang some of these ghoulish props from the tree branches and frighten the visitors!
Tip#2: Don't limit your Halloween decorations to your garden only! Don't forget to decorate your house so that it looks like a scary and haunted house! Let the guests get the shock of their life when they notice the scary spiders or the ghoulish goblins inside your house!
Tip#3: Keep the lighting decent. While you should use as minimal artificial lighting as possible, you should make sure that the paths that lead to the graveyard or your house are not too dark. You would not want guests to trip and fall!
Tip#4: Don't forget to use some cool sound effects along with the Halloween decorations. Left by themselves, the props would hardly appear as scary as they would when accompanied by haunting music. Thankfully you can get cheap musical CDs on creepy music from your local store so it should not be a big deal for you!
Tip#5: This is not exactly a Halloween decoration tip but I felt the need to include it here anyway! Tricking and treating is a popular Halloween activity, especially for kids. However, kids can visit only so many houses within a day, which is why they need to be selective about the houses they visit.
I tell my kids to visit only those houses that have their gardens or lawns decorated as per the Halloween theme. Normally these houses tend to have some great treats for those young, mischievous visitors!

Halloween Decorations For The Home
The obvious place to start is with the humble pumpkin. They should start appearing a week or two before Halloween, around the middle of October. Many people think that it is difficult to carve one out but a quick Google search will give you all the information you need. It really is not difficult at all.
You also want to dim your regular lighting and put up a few lights to help create a glow. Yes, candles are ideal and look great but if there are children in your house then I would advise against it and use something different such as white Christmas lights.
If you want to try something unique then get hold of some dry ice. When it is submerged into water, it gives off a lot of water vapour. With the lights and other decorations, this can look fantastic and people will be talking about your decorations for years!
Halloween Decorations For The Yard
Your yard gives you many more possibilities for decorations compared to your home. Here, you can really go overboard if you want to!
A lawn makes a great base for a graveyard and all you need is a few fake tombstones. These are easily made out of old cardboard boxes and can be secured to the ground using garden stakes or even old metal coat hangers.
Another good tip is to make a fake zombie out of old clothes. Think of a scarecrow and you get a similar idea. Instead of parading your fake zombie in the middle of the yard, keep him hidden and in partial lighting but in a place where he will be discovered and maybe even shock some people!
Buy some cobwebs in a can and spray them over every surface that you can. Make your yard and any furniture and surfaces nearby look like the grounds of an old and haunted house. Get some fake spiders (or just make your own from paper) and dangle them near the entrance to your house so that they cannot be avoided by approaching visitors.

Great Halloween Decorations
Halloween Lights
One of the best ways to spruce up your house is with effective use of lights. A few strategically placed lights can really help set the mood, even in the absence of many other decorations.
The simplest types of lights are single colour lights that are otherwise similar to Christmas lights. Such lights are normally orange or purple.
You can get much more extravagant lights too such as pumpkin, skull or ghost themed ones.

Inflatable Decorations for Halloween
Inflatables decorations for Halloween have become very popular in recent years. They make a really big impact and yet only need filling with air at Halloween which means that they don't take up much storage space.
Some of them are amazing. For example, you can get a 9-foot air blown ghost that plugs into a wall socket and looks "alive".

Halloween Scene Setters
Halloween Scene setters are products that allow you to easily change the appearance of your house to look like that out of a popular horror movie.
The simplest types of scene setters are rolls of paper that you mount on your walls. You can also get door covers that give the appearance of the entrance to a haunted house or an old jail.
An innovative type of halloween scene setter is a "grabber" that is mounted on a ceiling, mirror or on the floor. These feature a transparent surround that blends seamlessly with the surface on which it is placed. This way, it really does look like Freddy Krueger is tearing his way out of a hole in the floorboards!

- I am like Julie's neighbors, I go all out but am going minimalist this year due to a baby boy coming due so have put the home haunt on hold so no 40ft long maze and no giant front yard display, just doing up some spider webbing like a cave entrance around our door and then going to have an animated skull. Love all your Halloween lenses and I am sure I will be leaving more comments as I read through all of them.
