Hazel Court

Welcome to My Hazel Court page. I made this page because I think this red-headed vixen from Great Britain should be recognized as the screen-legend that she is.

Hazel Court: a short biography

Hazel Court had quite a long career, but many film fans only know her from The Masque of the Red Death and The Raven. She has done so much more tha be in a couple of Vincent Price films.

Hazel Court was born February 10th, 1926, in Sutton Coldfield, England. One Source described her as a "red-headed lovely of the 40s who never quite attained the status of the other Gainsborough girls." (That comment is referring to Gainsborough film production company).

Miss Court broke into British films at the age of 18. She appeared in both Hammer Studios' early horror films in England AND Roger Corman's Edgar Allan Poe horror films from American International Productions in the United States.
When she was 30, Hazel got her big break when she starred opposite Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in the Hammer Studios' first horror film, "The Curse of Frankenstein."

In 1964, Hazel Court married Don Taylor, also a successful actor and director.

Miss Court also was a skilled painter and sculptress. She studied sculpting in Italy and her works can be seen in Europe and the United States. She will be missed.
