Health Supplements How To Get Discounts

People have many reasons to buy health products, usually to cover up or make better what we see as inadequacies in themselves. Such perceived problems could be....

* Needing to lose some weight
* Hair thinning
* Acne
* Wrinkles
* Too think (weight gain)
* Cellulite
* Need more energy

And there's more of course, but you get the idea. I myself have used various products over the years and they seem to change based on my age and what I then perceive to be my flaws at any given time. As we get older I think we crave more miracle cures because we hate the thought of losing our youth and have a hard time coming to grips that time takes its toll on all of us. Still our vanity propels us to find ways to slow down father time and give us the appearance of at least aging gracefully.

This got me thinking about how these companies market their products to us and how the health industry compares to other industries. Think about health insurance for example. Ever notice how big companies who provide heath coverage for their employees can afford such costs? If I were to check the cost to cover myself and my family the figure is staggering so how can a company with thousands of employees afford such costs and still remain profitable? Companies can afford it because the cost charged to them by health providers is far less to them then it would cost us as individuals to by the health coverage on our own but why is that?

Companies get a big discount because they can provide a health provider with an immediate and substantial client base (their employees) and so they can shop around and find a carrier who will give the company the best deal. Its all in the numbers. A large employer can work out a much better deal then a small employer or and individual can and that makes sense, after all the provider doesn't have to advertise to gain this new huge client base saving them money. This is money they can pass on to the employees employer as the provider may make less per person, but they get a larger base of people at zero cost to them so it's a good deal for the provider, the employer and the individuals.

This plays out in many markets whether that's a group rate for a show, ski passes, lodging, clothing (buy two get the third free) and so on. I myself dabble In the online marketing game and see that people who have large lists of people (people on an individuals mailing list) often sell products to their list created by another marketer and they get to sell it at a discount. How do they do that? Well because they have a large mailing list the owner of the marketing product being sold is willing to take a smaller profit from his product being sold via the other marketer who has a big list because he A.) Get's his product in front of a large number of people who are interested in marketing type of products for zero advertising costs so the costs he saves up front he passes on to the marketer with the big list who passes on some of that saving to his email list. Again as in the health insurance example above everyone is a winner; it's a great way to do business.

Ok so the point of this whole article is that I had an ah ha moment one day and thought well if it works in so many other niches why not for the health supplement - products field! Why don't I build a site whose main purpose is to try to build up an email list of people who would like to get health supplements at a discount and I don't necessarily mean just supplements, but rather work on the tons of health products vendors out there who have products we use or would like to use everyday. If I could build up a substantial list of people who simply join my free no obligation newsletter (I promise there is no catch!) and convince people to tell their friends and family to do the same, over time the list could be large enough to convince "some" health product vendors to give my list of health seekers a discount on some or all of their products.
