Healthy Snack Recipes for everyday people
After I left home and started out on my own I began to experiment with many of the recipes in the books and magazines I read. This lens simply chronicles some snack recipes that are healthy alternatives to traditional storebought snacks that I've come up with or come across over time to support my fitness goals, schedule, and appetite. I'm not a professional by any stretch of the imagination but I know what I like and I hope you will to. Please enjoy!
It's impossible to cover everything on one lens so please click here for more healthy recipe ideas.

Toasted Oats power cubes
,.....everybody loves this healthy snack recipe
3 Tbsp margarine
4 cups of mini marshmallows
5 cups of Cheerios or generic toasted oat cereal
1/2 cup of raisins
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1/4 cup graham crackers or cheerio crumbs
Place the marshmallows in a large microwave safe bowl with the margarine on top and nuke on high 2-3 mins. Add the cereal, the raisins and chocolate chips and stir until thoroughly mixed.
Rub some margarine on the bottom and sides of a casserole dish and transfer the cereal mixture to the casserole pressing the mixture into the dish. Let the mixture cool then cut into 24 cubes. Roll the cubes in the cracker/cereal crumbs. Enjoy!
For a fancier version add a 1/2 cup crushed walnuts, almonds, or peanuts. For a healthier blend omit the chocolate chips.

The Easiest Healthy Snack Recipe ever!
I call it combat breakfast cereal
Get a 1 gallon ziplock bag and dump in 2 cups of toasted oats cereal. Add 1/2 to 1 cup of raisins and shake until somewhat mixed.
I carry this mixture I my vehicle in a plastic shaker cup so I can eat it right out of the cup as if it were a drink. It really comes in handy when I don't have time to sit for breakfast. I just throw it together and go!
It's easy to get fancy. Just add some nuts, seeds, or your favorite dried fruit.., or whatever you can imagine. Cheers!
