Art, like life, is a journey!

This lens is a snapshot of my art and life as a daily painter, mom, & high school art teacher as these activities converge with my faith as a Christian. There are lots of curves on the path, which is what I try to chronicle and explore both visually and with the written word.

My art blog, Brushstrokes, etc.

My blog is updated every few days with new images and information about the artistic process. I often give steps in the making of a particular piece as well as what motivated me to paint it. I often explain what I have learned along the way.
Most of my paintings are for sale, and a link is attached for purchase.

Art and Life

or... how it all comes together!

My creative interests are varied, including writing, collage, sculpture, etc. I enjoy creating objects of visual interest for others... and sharing new ways of looking at the commonplace. My life includes many other areas of involvement, including being a parent to three 20-something/teen age kids, professional activities, activities at church and in the community. Actually, life is busy! However, an area that requires intention and perseverance (so that procrastination and distraction don't prevail) is creativity and creating art. This has become an important way to explore the elements of life as it happens every day, with the perspective of faith.

A Thought to Remember Today!

"How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can't even count them: they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me!
