I first went to the Philippines in 2007. Now I am the president of a Christian mission organization which is building an orphan's home there! It is amazing what God will do if we are just willing to trust Him by faith.

Fund raising is not easy, but a good Christian mission agency will have the tools to help you. Operation Mobilization has been sending people into short term missions since 1957, so they know what they are doing and how to do it. You can find them at: www.om.org or if you are in the USA, www.omusa.org They have a lot of short and long term missions trips all over the world and they are amazingly inexpensive! They have a world of resources to help people raise funds for their missions trips.

I went with Teen Mania in 2000 to Romania and 2004 New Orleans lack of funds is the biggest reason why more people don't go so that's why I started my new Fundraising business http://crossroadsbookstoreandsports.com/fundraising/

I've been on many mission trips and the one thing that I learned is that sending out the triditional support letters via snail mail is no fun!

You should check out www.MissionMatchUp.com it allows anyone to go on there and make a support page (simular to a support letter) that can be easily emailed out to friends and family. There are also other cool features like blog posts and picture albums.

yeah. I'm in the same boat as your daughter. I'm a fellow GE missionary, and have been dreaming of being a full time missionary in Africa for years. For one, have you guys checked out GE's list of 120 or something like that fundraising ideas? It's a BIG help. Letters work out really well. Many of my friends pay for trips to Africa every summer on letters alone. I've done auctions for a trip with my church and in one evening we raised $20,000. Try getting something big in your church donated. That was when I was living in Alabama and we got a signed University of Alabama football donated. All the Alabama fans wanted to have it and all the Aubrun fans wanted to win so that they could burn it. We ended up making $6,000 on that football alone. My PD also told me to write 3 letters. One to send before Christmas, one in early spring, and one about a month before the trip.

It always depends on God timing, Place and the Person. Many people are willing to raise such the amount on money so that they reach out their goals, but the space under which they are do not allow them to. Others are on a good soil, but God still saying wait! Other people are not made up to raise money!!

We are missionaries to Mexico! And, my prayer is that Anna will not only reach her goals, but exceed them! We once heard an amazing Pastor say, that "If God gives the vision, he'll make the provision!" Be blessed in the name of Jesus!
