Magnesium

Naturally Lower Blood Pressure

Magnesium has been demostrated to be effective in bringing down high blood pressure. According the The American Heart Association, Japanese researchers say Magnesium may play a role in relaxing the blood vessels, an effect generally proven to help lower blood pressure. When blood vessels are constricted -- not relaxed -- the heart works harder to pump blood through the body, causing blood pressure to increase.

CoQ10

Strengthen The Cardiovascular System

It has been shown that a CoQ10 deficiency has been shown to be present in 39% of patients with hypertension. Several studies have shown that CoQ10 lowers blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Typically, there is a reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by an average of 10%. These results usually take 4-12 weeks to be in effect.

Hawthorne Berries

Hawthorn For Blood Pressure

Hawthorn Berries has been shown to help both high and low blood pressure. It usually takes 4-8 weeks to begin seeing its effects. Studies also suggest that Hawthorn Berries can be taken safely by people with high blood pressure who are also taking blood pressure medications.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne For Blood Pressure

Capsicum, also known as Cayenne, contains capsaicin - the compound that produces the "hot" in hot peppers. Cayenne peppers have been used for centuries as a folk medicine for stimulating circulation, aiding digestion and relieving pain (topically). Contemporary uses have placed Cayenne extracts as thermogenic aids to help increase metabolism. It also reduces the risk of atherosclerosis, which in turn can help to normalize high blood pressure.

Thyroid, insulin, and blood pressure are all interrelated. Cutting out sugar has seemed to help my BP.

Excellent points, It is usually wise to start low and work your way up. Also, let your doctor know what supplements you take and are planning on taking.

I'd like to add a caution if I may. The products mentioned above do indeed help your blood pressure but anything that strengthens the heart will raise your blood pressure if you start out taking too large a dose. I tried the cayenne pepper and hawthorn berry and I take CoQ10 regularly but I started out using too much cayenne (drinking it as a hot tea) and it raised my blood pressure. Vitamin E is also supposed to lower blood pressure but you have to start low and work up VERY slowly.
