With High School Musical 3 Fever starting to slow down, Disney has announced HSM 4 is already in writing stage. As opposed to what had been rumored the High School Musical 4 will not subtitled "College Years" instead it will called the High School Musical 4: East Meets West.
It was then later changed to Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.
The movie was originally going to be about the school rivalry between our favorite East High Wildcats and the West High Knights.

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure can be considered a sequel to High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The film also takes place shortly after the graduation of the original cast. It starts with Sharpay Evans, the spin-off's protagonist, learning about the audition to a musical on Broadway. So, Sharpay travels to New York City with her dog Boi and meets Peyton (Austin Butler). Everything goes awry on such a "fabulous adventure" for Sharpay.
One example includes Boi and another boy's (Bradley Steven Perry) dog running away. Searching for the pets, him and Sharpay find that the dogs are madly in love.
By the end, Sharpay gets the part in a real Broadway musical and shares a kiss with Peyton. Then her twin brother Ryan Evans visits, to say that he is not in Juilliard with Kelsi as hinted in ""High School Musical 3: Senior Year."

Disney Channel Worldwide President Rich Ross stated that script was being written for the fourth installment of High School Musical. However since Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens' characters have graduated and headed to college, they will not be reappearing.
The filming will be done by choreographer and director Jeffrey Hornaday and will debut on Disney Channel in 2010. Casting is underway for the fourth installment, which is set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.

- Why would they make a high school musical 4.? When the oriniqal ppl are qone to colleqe..there is no high school musical 4..wtf.? Nd Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure wasnt that bad. Nd plus, it would be real S T U P I D not to have the lead characters in the movie. They started it all.! Uqhh Pendejo.!!

- You people need to understand that the characters have grown up. If they're in college it wouldn't make sense because it's called, HIGH SCHOOL musical. Make a College Musical? Sure, but that would be stupid to me.All good things have to end. They can't just keep following the characters and making different storylines. Pretty soon the fans will get sick of it and it will end HSM in a bad way. HSM3 was a perfect movie and they ended it @ a good spot. To ruin a perfectly good ending would be bad. As for Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, that was a great movie! Could they have followed Troy and Gabriella? Sure, but Zac and Vanessa are on to bigger projects now that they had their fun HSM ride. Sharpay was probably the most one that could have her story extended. No one wants to see a story about Chad or Taylor, no offense. Could they still do HSM4 yeah! They have the new characters, Tiara, Jimmy, and Donny. They could probably still continue working on HSM4! That would actually be cool! So don't get your hopes down guys, but I'm just warning you, we probably won't be seeing the original cast any time soon in a movie together.:)
