Hello, fellow HSP friend!! Wow. I LOVE this lens. Easy to read, understand, and informative. Also, thank you for linking my lens. [I have been MIA but am back to Squidding!] It's the PERFECT lens for anyone who is a baby buddha on the HSP path...mine of course addresses a lot of metaphysical HSP issues which might be termed "advanced HSPers who've been here a while," haha. Thanks for such an awesome lens.

Quite interesting! I'd not heard of this before, but it would explain some behavior of friends or family who might fall into this category.

Interesting.... Like some of the comments below, I also prefer the term empath.
I love the print, thank you...

Extremely interesting. I hate noisy places or situations where noise is coming from several directions at once. I'm okay with rock concerts but not children's parties. I can't be in crowded places where everyone is milling about. I can't even stand being with my family for too long - I must have peace to think. Great lens and much food for thought.

I'm definitely an HSP. I'll be lensrolling this to my own lens on the subject.

Thank you for touching this subject. I am an empath in today's terminology. We just called it like we saw it - a witch/warlock, termpermental and moody, etc.

This is very interesting, too. I often refer to myself as a 'good witch' cause it's still amazing that in 2011, the superstition of 'witch' [w/o qualifiers] is equated with 'bad'.

Hi, I just added this lens to Empath and HSP resources
  • empathzone Dec 24, 2010 @ 9:39 am | delete
Awesome lens! A lil bit depressing though... :)

I´m on the same line, but we prefer to call ourselves "empaths". There is a subtle difference, while HSP means there is something wrong with us, to be an empath opens a world of possibilities.

It is the difference between the victim and the hero I guess... they both go through the same stuff, but the underlying elements are different and the outcome too. :)

Reasons for physical issues are usually threefold: physical empaths pick up the physical symptoms of others, we are more tuned with nature so toxic environments affect us more (environmental barometers?), and crystal people are able to condense reality (sickness is very convenient when we don´t want to do something and we HAVE to).

There is light at the end of the tunnel, HSP are not a mischief, they are the spiritual reservoir of humanity.

    Sandra :)

Excellent! Oh and I promise I did not know about this one when I told Addaptabilities she had the best HSP lens on Squidoo... you have both created fantastic lenses here. ;) I do have trouble figuring out the differences between HSP, Avoidants, and Aspergers. Some of the symptoms overlap, but perhaps it is the causes that are different, as HSP seems to be more a result of environmental stimuli and upbringing. All part of the diverse spectrum of human beings, in any case!

Brilliant lens! I found yours when updating mine after too long! Wow. Isn't it awesome us HSP's are outing ourselves? How would you feel about co-moderating an HSP Forum I am pre-processing? Find me on Twitter @livingsamsara or send me a message on SU @ digits.stumbleupon.com and let's talk about this. I am looking for some good HSP's to help us pull this together. [i'll effectually be moving the SU HSP group to a website i have reserved so people can have as much anonymity as they desire or can interact more freely w/o fear of social network retribution. Haha. Really. It still can be a stigma to those unenlightened earth people sorts. :-)]

Hi! I would be very interested! I've followed you on Twitter (@inkserotica) and will send you an @reply and let's go from there :)
  • samsaradakini Apr 26, 2010 @ 8:49 am | delete
very nice - thank you!! i call your @reply and raise you a follow as well! i am thinking maybe 4 or 5 weeks. maybe sooner! maybe i can get the forum up and let the website simply lag and grow it from there. we can discuss the private details at a later time when the time approaches.

but in the meantime, i feel so honored that Highly Sensitive People are coming out and discussing it. In this age of happy pills and doing everything to *not* be ourselves, it's just an honor to witness it. so, i really thank you for this.

This is a fascinating lens Carrie - just back to let you know that this lens is featured in "Lenses of the month: April 2010" at the Emotional Wellbeing Headquarters
  • AddaptAbilities Jan 28, 2010 @ 6:46 pm | delete

  • Kylyssa Jan 11, 2010 @ 5:07 pm | delete
People who are HSPs sound like they have a lot in common with people who are autistic, like me. Very informative lens!
