Would You Hire-a-Kid?

Yes, and I did when we went away. I had the neighbour's daughter water and weed my gardens so they wouldn't be unruly when I returned. Definitely cheaper than a gardener and she appreciated the extra cash in her pocket for what was a relatively easy job.

I absolutely would hire a kid. Many neighbors hired me when I was young for yard work or shoveling the snow in the drive. Just make sure it is not a job that is too big for a youngster to handle.

I would and have. Its a wonderful way to get you driveway shoveled. The neighbor kids used to charge a pizza with everything and some hot cocoa. It was well worth it!

Nope, I'll just do it myself!

Great idea! Sort of like "Outsourcing" the domestic jobs! Teens love to earn money!

My sister's yard is very, very steep. When she bought the house a teenager in the neighborhood kept the yard mowed. I believe later he moved away and she's not been able to get anyone else (pros) to agree to mow it.

I really like your idea of hiring a kid to shovel an elderly neighbors driveway. It both helps the kid and the senior, but it also will hopefully create a friendship between the two generations.
