Get a quote from the company and also check with deposit they need to begin the work. It is not unusual to ask for a deposit to pay for materials however you shouldn't have to pay the whole amount in advance

Time Scales

Ask what time scales they have and if they have any back up plans for if they ever miss this dead line.
