Does The Health of Your Mouth Affect The Rest of Your Body
Many people don't realize that what goes on in their mouth has a tremendous influence on the health of the rest of their body. That is what Holistic Dentistry is about. We take a "whole" approach, Holistic, to ensure what goes in your mouth is good for the rest of you.
What Is Holistic Dentistry
Can What Goes On In Your Mouth Affect Your Whole Body?

When taking a "holistic approach," a doctor looks at
how one area of infection can affect the rest of the body.
A holistic dentist broadens that approach, viewing the mouth and head as connected to the rest of the body. Most dentists tend to focus in a small area of
the mouth, where the teeth and gums are, overlooking the fact that what they do in the mouth affects the rest of the body. A holistic dentist realizes that materials used in the mouth have an effect on a person's over all health and well-being. He or she recognizes that some materials are potentially
toxic and that some procedures are potentially harmful.
Since a Holistic Dentist considers certain materials toxic hew will protect his patient and you will see:
Characteristic of a Holistic Dentist:
*Rather than placing or using silver
mercury amalgam fillings, the holistic
dentist prefers not to use metal in the
mouth and uses metal only as a last
resort.
*Uses more suitable bio-compatible
(compatible with life/the body) materials
such as porcelains and composites.
*When removing silver amalgam fillings,
the holistic dentist protects the patient from the toxic mercury by using a sheet of rubber(called the "rubber dam") over the teeth. This prevents silver mercury amalgam dust particles from going down the
patient's throat when the fillings are being removed.
*Uses cotton packing material and activated charcoal underneath the rubber dam, next to the tongue and cheek, to capture any particles that make it past the rubber dam.
*Uses a strong suction to pull out the debris and dust while drilling, and uses a water spray to keep the dust down.
*Uses eye protection and drapes over
the face head and neck of the patient to
prevent over spray from getting on the
skin.
*Is conservative in any treatment, doing
the minimum amount of dentistry
necessary.
*Educates patients on how teeth that
have root canals can still harbor bacteria
and can still cause problems in other
areas of the body. Discusses alternatives
to root canals.
*Can test for the bio-compatibility of
dental materials, and whether they are or
are not suitable for the patient.
*Prefers to use natural alternative
remedies, herbs and supplements to
handle conditions, if possible.
*Helps patients get control of and
eliminate infections present in the gums,
thus enhancing a person's longevity.
*Makes sure patients understand that
bacteria growing under the gums and
between the gums and teeth can infect the
gums, get into the bloodstream, and
spread infection to other areas of the
body, leading to serious health conditions.
*Listens to patients' needs and wants;
helps them choose the correct treatment
for their over-all well being; helps them
make decisions that enhance health.
*Holds membership in organizations
that support a more natural, alternative,
non-toxic approach to dental treatment
(e.g.: The International Academy of Oral
Medicine and Toxicology, The Holistic
Dental Association, Mercury Free Dentistry,
the Academy of Biological Dentistry).
*Understands how jaw position and bite
can affect the head, neck and the rest of
the spinal column and can cause headaches,
neck aches, backaches and other
pains.

ROOT CANALS POSE HEALTH THREAT
AN INTERVIEW WITH
GEORGE MEINIG, D.D.S.
HOME -
Dr. Meinig brings a most curious perspective to an expose of latent dangers of root canal therapy - fifty years ago he was one of the founders of the American Association of Endodontists (root canal specialists)! So he's filled his share of root canals. And when he wasn't filling canals himself, he was teaching the technique to dentists across the country at weekend seminars and clinics. About two years ago, having recently retired, he decided to read all 1174 pages of the detailed research of Dr. Weston Price, (D.D.S). Dr. Meinig was startled and shocked. Here was valid documentation of systemic illnesses resulting from latent infections lingering in filled roots. He has since written a book, "Root Canal Cover-Up EXPOSED - Many Illnesses Result", and is devoting himself to radio, TV, and personal appearances before groups in an attempt to blow the whistle and alert the public.
MJ Please explain what the problem is with root canal therapy.
GM First, let me note that my book is based on Dr. Weston Price's twenty-five years of careful, impeccable research. He led a 60-man team of researchers whose findings - suppressed until now rank right up there with the greatest medical discoveries of all time. This is not the usual medical story of a prolonged search for the difficult-to-find causative agent of some devastating disease. Rather, it's the story of how a "cast of millions" (of bacteria) become entrenched inside the structure of teeth and end up causing the largest number of diseases ever traced to a single source.
MJ What diseases? Can you give us some examples?
GM Yes, a high percentage of chronic degenerative diseases can originate from root filled teeth. The most frequent were heart and circulatory diseases and he found 16 different causative agents for these. The next most common diseases were those of the joints, arthritis and rheumatism. In third place - but almost tied for second - were diseases of the brain and nervous system. After that, any disease you can name might (and in some cases has) come from root filled teeth.
Let me tell you about the research itself. Dr. Price undertook his investigations in 1900. He continued until 1925, and published his work in two volumes in 1923. In 1915 the National Dental Association (which changed its name a few years later to The American Dental Association) was so impressed with his work that they appointed Dr. Price their first Research Director. His Advisory Board read like a Who's Who in medicine and dentistry for that era. They represented the fields of bacteriology, pathology, rheumatology, surgery, chemistry, and cardiology.
At one point in his writings Dr. Price made this observation: "Dr. Frank Billings (M.D.), probably more than any other American internist, is due credit for the early recognition of the importance of streptococcal focal infections in systemic involvements."
What's really unfortunate here is that very valuable information was covered up and totally buried some 70 years ago by a minority group of autocratic doctors who just didn't believe or couldn't grasp - the focal infection theory.
MJ What is the "focal infection" theory?
GM This states that germs from a central focal infection - such as teeth, teeth roots, inflamed gum tissues, or maybe tonsils - metastasize to hearts, eyes, lungs, kidneys, or other organs, glands and tissues, establishing new areas of the same infection. Hardly theory any more, this has been proven and demonstrated many times over. It's 100% accepted today. But it was revolutionary thinking during World War I days, and the early 1920's!
Today, both patients and physicians have been "brain washed" to think that infections are less serious because we now have antibiotics. Well, yes and no. In the case of root-filled teeth, the no longer-living tooth lacks a blood supply to its interior. So circulating antibiotics don't faze the bacteria living there because they can't get at them.
MJ You're assuming that ALL root-filled teeth harbor bacteria and/or other infective agents?
GM Yes. No matter what material or technique is used - and this is just as true today - the root filling shrinks minutely, perhaps microscopically. Further and this is key - the bulk of solid appearing teeth, called the dentin, actually consists of miles of tiny tubules. Microscopic organisms lurking in the maze of tubules simply migrate into the interior of the tooth and set up housekeeping. A filled root seems to be a favorite spot to start a new colony.
One of the things that makes this difficult to understand is that large, relatively harmless bacteria common to the mouth, change and adapt to new conditions. They shrink in size to fit the cramped quarters and even learn how to exist (and thrive!) on very little food. Those that need oxygen mutate and become able to get along without it. In the process of adaptation these formerly friendly "normal" organisms become pathogenic (capable of producing disease) and more virulent (stronger) and they produce much more potent toxins.
Today's bacteriologists are confirming the discoveries of the Price team of bacteriologists. Both isolated in root canals the same strains of streptococcus, staphylococcus and spirochetes.
MJ Is everyone who has ever had a root canal filled made ill by it?
GM No. We believe now that every root canal filling does leak and bacteria do invade the structure. But the variable factor is the strength of the person's immune system. Some healthy people are able to control the germs that escape from their teeth into other areas of the body. We think this happens because their immune system lymphocytes (white blood cells) and other disease fighters aren't constantly compromised by other ailments. In other words, they are able to prevent those new colonies from taking hold in other tissues throughout the body. But over time, most people with root filled teeth do seem to develop some kinds of systemic symptoms they didn't have before.
MJ It's really difficult to grasp that bacteria are imbedded deep in the structure of seemingly-hard, solid looking teeth.
GM I know. Physicians and dentists have that same problem, too. You really have to visualize the tooth structure - all of those microscopic tubules running through the dentin. In a healthy tooth, those tubules transport a fluid that carries nourishment to the inside. For perspective, if the tubules of a front single-root tooth, were stretched out on the ground they'd stretch for three miles!
A root filled tooth no longer has any fluid circulating through it, but the maze of tubules remains. The anaerobic bacteria that live there seem remarkably safe from antibiotics. The bacteria can migrate out into surrounding tissue where they can "hitch hike" to other locations in the body via the bloodstream. The new location can be any organ or gland or tissue, and the new colony will be the next focus of infection in a body plagued by recurrent or chronic infections.
All of the "building up" done to try to enhance the patient's ability to fight infections - to strengthen their immune system - is only a holding action. Many patients won't be well until the source of infection - the root canal tooth - is removed.
MJ I don't doubt what you're saying, but can you tell us more about how Dr. Price could be sure that arthritis or other systemic conditions and illnesses really originated in the teeth - or in a single tooth?
GM Yes. Many investigations start with the researcher just being curious about something - and then being scientifically careful enough to discover an answer, and then prove it's so, many times over. Dr. Price's first case is very well documented. He removed an infected tooth from a woman who suffered from severe arthritis. As soon as he finished with the patient, he implanted the tooth beneath the skin of a healthy rabbit. Within 48 hours the rabbit was crippled with arthritis!
Further, once the tooth was removed the patient's arthritis improved dramatically. This clearly suggested that the presence of the infected tooth was a causative agent for both that patient's and the rabbit's - arthritis.
[Editor's Note - Here's the story of that first patient from Dr. Meinig's book: "(Dr. Price) had a sense that, even when (root canal therapy) appeared successful, teeth containing root fillings remained infected. That thought kept prying on his mind, haunting him each time a patient consulted him for relief from some severe debilitating disease for which the medical profession could find no answer. Then one day while treating a woman who had been confined to a wheelchair for six years from severe arthritis, he recalled how bacterial cultures were taken from patients who were ill and then inoculated into animals in an effort to reproduce the disease and test the effectiveness of drugs on the disease.
With this thought in mind, although her (root filled) tooth looked fine, he advised this arthritic patient, to have it extracted. He told her he was going to find out what it was about this root filled tooth that was responsible for her suffering. "All dentists know that sometimes arthritis and other illnesses clear up if bad teeth are extracted. However, in this case, all of her teeth appeared in satisfactory condition and the one containing this rootcanal filling showed no evidence or symptoms of infection. Besides, it looked normal on x-ray pictures.
"Immediately after Dr. Price extracted the tooth he dismissed the patient and embedded her tooth under the skin of a rabbit. In two days the rabbit developed the same kind of crippling arthritis as the patient - and in ten days it died.
"..The patient made a successful recovery after the tooth's removal! She could then walk without a cane

Sleep or Snoring Problems?
Snoring Can Kill You
SOLVE YOUR SLEEP & SNORING PROBLEMS NOW!
Amazing New Breakthrough: Sleep sufferers and Snorers finally experience the joy of a full night's sleep!
Did you know that there are literally over 20 Million Adults in the United States suffering unnecessarily from a Sleep Disorder called "Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The scariest and most dangerous part of it all is that the majority of those sufferers don't even know it!
Do You Stop Breathing During The Night Or Snore?
Due to the way your jaw rests when you sleep you can have an airway obstruction leading to inability to breathe and take in oxygen. As the body senses the inability to breathe and lack of oxygen, the person is unknowingly pulled from sleep resulting in many awakenings throughout the night. He never really get into the deeper more restful sleep because, just as he is about to get there, his body wakes him up to get air. These repeated episodes often cause many daytime symptoms as fatigue, lack of concentration and depression.
A VERY REAL DANGER if NOT TREATED!
Statistics show that over 20 million adults in the United States are affected with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) making it as prevalent as diabetes and asthma. Individuals affected with this life threatening condition stop breathing during the night often hundreds of times. The real danger is a lack of oxygen getting to the brain. This is a very real danger if not treated as it can cause serious damage.
Do You Suffer With
Sleep Apnea?
The biggest challenge sometimes is first knowing if you even have Sleep Apnea or not. Then finding out the best way to treat it so that you can end the frustrations and start living a refreshing, joy filled life. Yes it IS possible and I'll tell you all about solving your OSA problems in a minute, but first, here's some of the most common signs and symptoms of OSA:
* Frequent cessation of breathing (apnea) during sleep
* Choking, gasping, or gagging during sleep to get air into the lungs
* Loud snoring
* Waking up sweating during the night
* Feeling un-refreshed in the morning after a night's sleep, Daytime sleepiness, Lethargy
* Headaches upon awakening
* Rapid weight gain, GERG Gastric Reflux
* Memory loss and learning difficulties
* Short attention span
* And Personality changes such as depression, irritability, constant frustration, and much more
A Typical Example
A typical situation might be: out of frustration and desperation a patient's wife begs him to finally come in and have us take a look at him and see if he is possibly an apnea sufferer because of his behavior. He is irritable, never plays with the kids, and a horrible snorer. They can't sleep in the same room and their separation was is affecting their intimacy.
After examining him and noting that he has extremely enlarged tonsils, small dental arches, and a deep worn down bite, I might see that his airway is severely obstructed. I would refer him to an ENT (ear, nose and throat) physician for an exam who would give him an unattended sleep test (Watch Pat100). The sleep test will show how many apnea (not breathing) events he has at night.
Some test show patients have stopping breathing for 10 seconds or longer 89 times PER HOUR!
Severe apnea is 40 or more events per hour. Luckily he would take both my and the ENT's advice and be treated.
The Solution Can Change the Patients Life And Save Their Marriage!
His life can be totally been changed. He can now be more energetic and less irritable. Best of all he could now be awake enough so that he can enjoy his kids. And his wife can make the statement, "this treatment saved our marriage."
Friends often ask me why I became a Dentist, and it's because I see "miracles" like this.. There is nothing more rewarding than to get to help people! I truly believe that without treatment this type of patient can die of a heart attack or suffer a massive stroke. It is amazing what getting a good nights sleep and oxygen can do to your life.
What Are the Most Common Treatments
For Sleep Apnea?
The most common prescribed treatment to date involves a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway
Pressure ) device where a patient, during sleep, wears a mask connected through hoses to an air compressor machine. Although very effective, statistics also show that not all patients are compliant with this type of treatment due to problems associated with masks, hoses and confinement of such therapy.
If you are one of these people, don't feel guilty or frustrated. Hope is just one phone call away! There is an alternative treatment that is now available called, OAT (oral appliance therapy). OAT provides treatment to those who are not able to tolerate CPAP. This well researched therapy involves a fitting of a custom made night time oral appliance endorsed by the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine for the treatment of mild to moderate sleep apnea or for those unable to tolerate CPAP. At our dental practice, Jonathan J. Bromboz, DDS, PA, we offer this well researched alternative treatment.
8 Ways Ending Your Sleep Apnea Will Change Your Life!
When you start using this appliance (OAT), you'll find that compliance with this device not a problem and that you will have an instant transformation in your alertness, attitude, energy, and enjoyment of life!
In fact, I've made a list of 8 of the most powerful key benefits that hundreds of our patients have experience by using OAT!
1. Start Sleeping Through the Night! Thousands of successful oral appliance users report the joy of sleeping through the night improving their quality of life!
2. You can enjoy your most comfortable sleeping positions once again! That's right%u2026when using OAT, there is no confinement of sleeping positions.
3. Gain Control Over Your Life! Your self-confidence will have no bounds, because you will be alert, energized, and full of life again!
4. You can take it anywhere: due to its small size and ease of transportation it you can take it anywhere and you'll receive a little case where you can store it.
5. Exercise and enjoy your hobbies once again- many patients tell me that they are able to start exercising and do their favorite hobbies which they had put off due to their lack of energy and sleep. Imagine having all you energy that you've hope to have to do what you want!
6. Within a couple of weeks it often takes away the headaches and short attention span and many other problems you experience due to the OSA.
7. Sleep like a log. Eight hours of deep sleep is no longer a dream. It's a real experience that you get to have nightly.
8. You'll get to turn back the clock! Friends, family members, and even strangers will notice a new YOU. They may say you look younger%u2026are acting younger%u2026and that you brighten up the room when you walk in it.
And Much Much More!

* Loud snoring
* Waking up sweating during the night
* Feeling un-refreshed in the morning after a night's sleep, Daytime sleepiness, Lethargy
* Headaches upon awakening
* Rapid weight gain, GERG Gastric Reflux
* Memory loss and learning difficulties
* Short attention span

Headaches Started By Airway Obstruction When You Were A Child
Info for Parents About Headaches
How Headaches Can Get Started. Important Information If You Have Children and As An Adult
Article # 1 by Dr. Jonathan J. Bromboz, Clearwater, Florida Dentist
*Do your children have "shiners" (bags or dark circles under their eyes)?
*Do they breathe from their mouth rather than their nose, leaving their mouth open most of the
time and when they sleep?
*Do they push up on their nose to get more air.
*Do they have allergies causing sinus, tonsil or adenoid problems?
If so, these allergies can cause infections, which cause swelling in their sinus, adenoids or tonsils. This swelling can cause airway blockage making it impossible for them to breathe through their nose.
Some allergies are caused by lack of breast feeding. The breast milk contains vital antibodies which prevent allergies or infectious reactions to various bacteria. Babies, not breast-fed but raised on cows milk also develop trouble sleeping.
The airway obstruction which causes mouth breathing leads to other problems. Mouth breathing leads to improper formation of the dental arches, and mal-formation of the teeth and the bite. The relationship of the upper and lower jaw is adversely
affected.
What occurs when there is mouth-breathing is that the tongue, being one of thestrongest muscles in the body, does not rest in the proper place. Its proper place is resting behind the lower teeth. This position is important because the cheek muscles
are also very strong. Without the pressure of the tongue beind the lower teeth, the cheek muscles push those teeth in. The tongue, in its proper position balances the cheek pressure and allow the teeth and lower arch and jaw to form properly. When there is mouth breathing the tongue doesn't rest in the proper place and the teeth and jaw end up too narrow or tipped in. The tongue, in mouth breathing, rests on the back teeth, preventing them from becoming tall enough to form a proper bite.
When the lower back teeth are too short this causes the individual to have to contort their jaw to get their teeth to come together in order to chew, because due to the shortness the distance is now too far for the lower jaw to move up easily. Not being able to get them to come together to chew the individual has to distort his muscles and jaw just to chew. This throws the muscles off and eventually causes trouble down the road with posture, the neck, back, sinuses, nasal airway obstruction, lack of sufficient oxygen, tooth grinding and difficulty sleeping (due to breathing problems while trying to sleep).
The whole teeth, jaw and muscle system can get distorted resulting in crooked, crowded teeth, leading to orthodontics which may not permanently reslove the problem due to the forces of the malaligned muscles at work.
The dark circles under the eyes, an arched upper lip, head hunched forward and mouth breathing are indications of airway obstruction and possible future dental, muscle and headaches and neck problems.
Your Neuromuscular {Neuro (nerve) Muscular
(muscles)} dentist can see if there are other signs and will address these problems.
A solution may be to have the child's adenoids and tonsils checked and removed if several episodes of sinus problems occur each year. We have pictures of twins, who both were mouth breathers, and when one had their adenoids out she was then able to breathe perfectly through her mouth and the mouth developed properly, while the other continued to mouth-breathe and the dental arch did not develop properly.
Airway obstruction always causes the bite to be off.
If the child is older and the dental arches are already narrow, orthodontic appliances can be used non-surgically to widen the arch to make room for the teeth to develop properly so the jaw, muscles and bite form properly.
An adult who's bite is off had airway obstruction when they were a child.
The next article will be how to fix the bite as an adult.

How Can a Dentist Help You With Your Headaches?
PR Web Press Release
How Can A Dentist Help Resolve Recurrent Headaches?
Florida Dentist, Dr. Bromboz, receives training in an area of dentistry not widely known that helps resolve chronic headaches.
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA (PRWEB) October 18, 2006 -- Dr. Jonathan J. Bromboz recently returned from Tampa, Florida, where he successfully completed an advanced seminar in the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ problems and other chronic head, neck and facial pain not commonly associated with dentistry.
The Seminar was held at the Bay Area Center for Craniomandibular Disorders which was established in 1985 as a patient treatment center and teaching facility for doctors from throughout the world, by Dr. Ralph Garcia, Jr., who is recognized world wide as an expert in the field of temporomandibular disorders.
This kind of dentistry, called "Neuromuscular Dentistry," addresses headaches and neck aches. Patients that go from doctor to doctor, such as neurologists, chiropractors, nutritionists, ear/nose/throat, etc. looking for solutions for their headaches have found relief by having the "bite" addressed by Neuromuscular dentists. The bite is the way the teeth come together when you chew. In many cases this can be corrected easily. Dr. Bromboz uses special equipment, similar to an EKG, to measure the activity of the chewing muscles located in the head, neck and jaw. This advanced training is done by a limited number of dentists.

What Can I Do For My Head and Neck Pain, Doc?
Article #2
Many people have any one of, some, or all of the following symptoms:
*Headaches,
*Migraines,
*Neck, shoulder or back aches,
*Facial pain,
*Insomnia,
*Tingling of the hands or numbness of the hands, *Sensitive teeth with no explanation,
*Worn, chipped, cracked or broken teeth,
*Unexplained loose teeth,
*Pain around the jaw joints,
*Unexplained ear problems such as ear congestion, dizziness or ringing of the ears, etc.
They go from doctor to doctor, none of whom can find anything wrong. Many begin to figure they have a brain tumor or something else.
These unexplained phenomena, in many cases, may now have an explanation.
Recent advancements in dentistry have determined the cause can be that the muscles of the jaw are in spasm due to the person's bite being off. The breakthrough is that, in the past, the problem was not approached from the correct perspective. In the past, dentists looked at the problem as being a problem of the jaw joint. However, the breakthrough is that it is actually a problem with the muscles that hold the jaw in position. These muscles also affect the head, neck, shoulders and back.
This breakthrough is so big that migraines, head, neck, shoulder and back aches have been resolved in many people who had no other solution.
Being able to help people who have had unresolved pain for a long time is nothing short of miraculous.
Your mouth can form too narrowly, or the lower back teeth don't grow tall enough due to mouth-breathing (rather than breathing through the nose.) Breathing through your mouth as a child, the tongue rests in the wrong place, on the back teeth, preventing their growth. Mouth breathing, which is usually caused by allergies affecting the sinus, adenoids and tonsils, results in the chewing bite being off due to
malformation of the jaw and teeth.
As a result of the lower back teeth being too short, the lower jaw has to travel further upwards to meet the upper teeth when chewing. This puts a strain on the jaw muscles that weren't meant to contort, or shorten this much in order to close the teeth
together to chew.
This constant straining of the muscles, over the years, can cause them to go into spasm. These muscles of the jaw are also directly connected to the head, neck, shoulders and the back. So straining these muscles in order to chew affects all these
areas.
Did you know that what keeps your lower jaw from simply falling completely open is muscles? The muscles are programmed to keep your lower jaw hanging about 1 mm open from your upper jaw. (At rest your upper and lower teeth are about 1 mm apart). Your muscles are programmed to hold the jaw there. But if your lower back teeth are
either worn too short or have developed too short your lower jaw has to move further to reach your upper jaw in order to chew, maintain this 1 mm difference. As a result you have to scrunch or contort your jaw to bring your lower back teeth together with your upper back teeth, into this un-natural position, which puts a strain on the lower jaw muscles that hold your jaw up. You may not
even realize you are doing this on a daily basis. Now the muscles have to reprogram
themselves in order to hold your lower jaw higher up in order to keep it 1 mm from the upper jaw. This puts the muscles in a new, un-natural position and an unnaturally shortened condition.
This puts an intense, constant strain on the muscles until they eventually go into fatigue or chronic spasm.
To correct this, we need to find the exact position that the muscles need to be in to be comfortable and not strained so that the jaw can rest back in its
natural position. That is done in the dental office. Then we make the teeth come together in a way that is most comfortable for YOUR muscles. It is a custom situation for each patient. Since the cause of the muscle strain is that the teeth aren't long enough to come together in this relaxed position, an orthotic is made to.
The orthotic fills in the space and builds up the teeth so they can come together easily, without any strain on the muscles.
One can now chew with the muscles remaining in a relaxed position. This can take the strain off of all the related muscles, relieving headaches, tension and many other related symptoms.
If you have worn an orthotic in your shoe, you understand the concept. If one leg was shorter than the other, to even out your walk, you would build up the shorter leg by putting something in your shoe. Walking with one leg shorter than the other causes all the muscles to have to compensate, which puts an intense strain on those muscles to have to work in an un-natural position. It is the same with your jaw. If the muscles have to strain to get the teeth to come together to chew, they need some help.
The orthotic brings your teeth closer together by adding material to your teeth, allowing your muscles to relax and remain in their natural position without strain.
You wear this orthotic for awhile and if your symptoms go away, then you will know that the bite was the cause of the headache. If the symptoms resolve with the orthotic than we can build up the teeth so they come together in the new more relaxed bite position.
This is a very objective diagnostic tool, in that, if the symptoms disappear then the correct cause and solution have been found. One only has their pain and suffering to lose.
This approach is called Neuromuscular Dentistry. Neuro (nerves) Muscular (muscles).
Its about time there were some answers to this kind of situation.
