Hollywood Undead
Hollywood Undead is an American rap rock band from California, fusing rap and metal with elements of rock and metal, formed in 2005. The band members perform in individual masks in order to maintain an air of mystery. This originated from the members' MySpace profile which they filled with pictures of themselves in hockey masks.

The band originated in 2005 from a song titled "The Kids" that Deuce and J-Dog posted on the band's MySpace profile to positive reviews, leading them to form the group Hollywood Undead with their friends Johnny 3 Tears, Charlie Scene, Funny Man, Da Kurlzz and Shady Jeff. Shady Jeff later left, leaving the band with only six members. In their first nine weeks on MySpace they had almost a million plays and by 2006 they were said to be leading MySpace's top unsigned artists list with over 8 million plays. By November 2008, the band had over 440,000 friends on MySpace. They made their live debut in August 2008 at the Virgin Mobile Festival after winning 285,000 votes, over half the total, in a Book the Band contest against four other bands. Their popular song "Undead" is featured on the Madden NFL 09 soundtrack and was released as an official single on August 19, 2008, making it the second single from Swan Songs. Their song "Young" is featured as one of the 20 bonus downloadable tracks in the music video game Rock Band 2. "Undead" is also featured in a trailer for the new G.I. Joe movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009).
The band spent nearly three years working on their first album.They first signed a record contract with Myspace Records in 2005 but they left the label after the label tried to censor their first album. They then signed a contract with A&M/Octone Records and their first album, Swan Songs was released on 2 September 2008 and reached #22 on the Billboard 200 in its first week of release, selling 21,000 copies.

On the cover of their album Swan Songs, Deuce aka The Producer has a blue and silver mask with pink tape over his mouth. Charlie Scene wears sunglasses and a black kerchief over his nose, mouth, and neck that bears the words of his name, Charles P. Scene, in white lettering. Funny Man has a black mask with his initials "FM" in yellow in the left cheek, and a small triangle of yellow dots on his right cheekbone. J-Dog wears a white mask with bleeding eyes that splash red down the cheeks, and a one dollar bill taped across the mouth. Da Kurlzz wears a divided white mask with two sides; one smiling and the other frowning, and has black hair that usually shows around his mask. Johnny 3 Tears has a blue mask with butterfly detailing across the right side of the face, and a white number three on his left cheek. The members of Hollywood Undead often wear hats with the initials "LA" and each has many tattoos.

- The music video for Young should be up there. It's by far the top of their videos what with the quality of both sound and picture. I'd have to say my favorite member is Johnny 3 Tears followed closely by Charlie and J-dog. (Shady Jeff is pretty badass, though he's no longer a part of the band.)
HU is an icon for the less than glamourous side of life. It's absolute magnificence.

- I love HU. Their lyrics are so clever. Everywhere I Go keeps me laughing the entire song while songs like Young send a message out. I have seen them live and they rocked the house. They had the crowed screaming, singing and dancing and made sure we were involved in their show. I'm a huge fan of Hollywood Undead and I can't wait to hear what they have in store for the future.
