What can bathroom scales do
Slowly disappearing are the days of the old analog bathroom scales. You know the ones. The ones where the dial rotates around the needle or the needle starts to, well, jumps and springs and finally comes to rest on that number you didn't really want to see in the first place. Quickly replacing these home bathroom scales are those new fangled digital scales. With a promise of being more accurate, studies are showing that that just simply isn't the case and that accuracy can still vary. Still even more bathroom scales are promising to help you track fat loss by aiding with electronic body fat monitors. Being able to show you your BMI (body mass index) at the count of 3. All in all though, most experts say that most all home bathroom scales can be off by a pound or two at any given time. You'd think that bathroom scales would at least be consistent considering thats their only purpose here on earth, to measure your weight. The display should be easy to read.If you are looking for a digital scale, look for ones that have the extra large numbers or ones that could possibly have a display that's backlit. If you are going for the classics and decide upon an analog, make sure it's one with a large weight dial and needle. Even though you might not want to see it, this will help you see the numbers better.
Special note: some home bathroom scales will talk, that's right, some are even made with a speech feature that'll simply tell you the weight.
Consistency
You want the scale to give accurate readings every time you step on the scale. If you're in a store, try it out. Step on and off of it a few times. Every time you get back on it should give you the same reading over and over. That's an easy check for consistency.
If you are getting home bathroom scales for family use, some of these models will come with memory storage for 2, 4 and even more people. It's an easy way to keep up with all the families fitness if that's what you want to do.

I have found that bathroom-style scales vary wildly in both accuracy and consistency, a common problem. I ordered this scale in late April and it arrived promptly. It looks nice and it's easy to read, but what really pleases me is that it is both impressively accurate and stays consistent. I don't know how consistent the products accuracy is, from unit to unit, but the fact that my own scale has excellent accuracy suggests that the design is an inherently good one. I feel that this is an superior scale and a good buy. I like this one.

- Great lens! Very detailed and very accurate. I personally use a My Weigh Elite at home and haven't had a problem.
One thing to note: Very rarely will a bathroom scale accurately and consistently weigh on carpet, even if it says it will. Be sure you have a hard surface, (like tile, linoleum or wood) to weigh on.
