Drinking During Meals - Drinking too much water during meals is a bad idea and can cause heartburn. Water will disrupt the digestion process, and takes longer for the food in your stomach to digest. So if you are a big drinker during meals, just drink 30 minutes before and after meals, not during.
Eat Smaller Portions - Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, which can stress your stomach, why not eat 5-6 smaller meals a day. This can really ease your stomach to digest the foods in smaller portions.
Eating Too Close To Your Bedtime - Be sure NOT to eat so close to your bedtime as this can cause immediate heartburn. Give your stomach at least 2 hours to digest the food before you go to bed, the longer the better.
