Home Based Business Ideas and Ventures

Welcome to "Home Business Ventures!"

I have been a stay-at-home-mom for over 18 years. During that time, I have experimented with many different ways to earn income from home. Some with stunning records of accomplishment and some that just left me stunned! After searching many places, including the internet, I want to bring that experience to you. For whatever reason you have for wanting a home based business, I'm sure you'll find lots of answers to your questions.

Here I will bring you several ideas for home based businesses, including what to avoid like the plaque! There are so many scams out there you've simply got to be careful. We'll even cover a little bit about Ebay...but not much, we'll leave that to a good friend of mine.

So stay tuned and enjoy the ride!

If You Can Take a Picture....You Can Make Money!

Housing Market Got You Down? Let it Fatten Your Wallet!

The real estate market is having some tough times now with the mortgage crisis in full swing but you can still earn money by taking photos of local property.

There is a great potential for earnings in your local area because lenders need this service.

Many people have incomes of $25-$35 per hour and many earning very nice income on part-time work, $900 to $1100 per month working just four to five days a week. Even those just starting in the business have earned as much as $17 per hour in their first 3 months. Of course, this varies from location and what you put into it but it's possible to make a nice income with part-time work.

The basic premise is that lenders have money invested in homes and property throughout the country and from time to time, they want to check on its condition. They simply hire you to do the checking because they cannot possibly have employees in every location.

Start a Lawn Care Business

Many people and businesses are now hiring others to care for their lawns and landscaping. This opens a whole new world for those wanting to start their own businesses.

Don't be fooled into thinking that a "lawn care" business is only seasonal. If you build your business to include other services such as limb trimming, leaf raking, storm cleanup, etc....you'll have year round business from your customers.

You can also "think outside the box" to find new customers and lets not forget the importance of a job well-done which can help you build word of mouth advertising. This is truly the best kind of advertising as well as the most cost effective!

Check it out....this might be the business for you!

Skip McGrath tells you How to Sell on Ebay!

PowerSeller of Information Products tells you how it's done!

Skip McGrath has got to be one of the best gurus for Ebay sellers. His materials are easy to read and fun enough to keep you reading. I personally own several of his works and they've always kept me up reading when I should be sleeping. You simply can't put them down.

His Book "How to Create and Sell Information Products on Ebay" is no different. First you'll read it...then you'll go through again reading it and taking notes!

That doesn't even begin to touch the extras he's going to toss in...free content and even an ebook that teaches you how to write great sales letters. This is an eBay and Information product sellers best friend!

Home Office Organizing

Organizing a Home Office on a budget Part 1

You're home office is an important place and the setting will have a lot of influence on how much work you actually get done. A dull and dreary room will only make you depressed and not in the mood to get any work finished.

You can lighten up a room with a fresh coat of paint but ideally, you should have at least one window. An extra bedroom works great for this but sometimes it's not possible. Sometimes those kiddos need a bedroom more than you need an office...right? Well, ok, give them the room and start looking for an office somewhere else.

Some needs for an office depends on the type of work you plan to do. A photographer may have different space needs than a person who works mostly from their car. However, your basics are a computer, file cabinet, phone/fax and printer. These are needed in most businesses today. Therefore, get started thinking of ways to organize those things in your work area.

See you next time,
Shelbie D.

Start your Own Cleaning Business

"Clean up" with your Cleaning Services

Many people have earned a nice living by cleaning up the messes of others. Oh sure, it's not glamorous but there is cold hard cash to be made in this field and the business is relatively easy to start. You'll need basic cleaning skills and people skills but it can be done. Many people who choose these businesses are able to work flexible hours that allow them to be home when their children get home from school and schedule their work around their family committments.

One guru of clean who sent himself through college by owning a cleaning business is Don Aslett. During his college years, he went door-to-door selling his services. This business grew and he had more clients that he could reasonably handle so he hired other college students to help. The company later grew to a multi-million dollar company with offices in several states.

He developed many techniques and tricks to get the job done faster and they can be learned from the several books he's published...there's a list below. His books can help you if you decide that you want to "clean up" with a cleaning business.

For more detailed informationi about starting a cleaning business I recommend the "Instant Office Cleaning Kit" Click Here! Although it's more about cleaning offices, the same ideas and techniques can be used for residential cleaning services as well.

Don Aslett, the King of Clean

Don Aslett is considered "America's No. 1 Cleaning Expert" and has many books on the market about HOW to clean. I personally own several that have taught me tricks to cleaning faster which is always needed in a house with 5 sons! Check out his books even if you don't plan to start a cleaning business...they will be a great help to you for your own home.
