1 - A passive solar home employs home design to provide heating, cooling and natural light without the use of any special equipment. A passive solar home essentially uses the environment to achieve great reductions in energy consumption. A passive solar home uses construction materials and design to utilize the sun's heat during winter months and block the sun's heat during summer months.

2 - In just about 30 States, homeowners who continue on the grid but who still opt to use wind energy (or other alternative forms) are eligible for rebates or tax breaks from the State governments that end up paying for as much as 50% of their total "green" energy systems' costs. Additionally, there are 35 States where these homeowners are allowed to sell their excess energy back to the power company under what are called "net metering laws". The rates that they are being compensated by the local power companies for this energy are standard retail rates-in other words, the homeowners are actually turning a profit from their own energy production.

3 - By using wind, water and solar to generate electrical energy you're looking not only at vast savings and potential profits from your electricity usage, but you would genuinely be green as each of these alternatives contributes little to global warming.
