Home Remedy for Scabies - the Better Choice
Once you have scabies you need to rid yourself of the nasty little mites as quickly as possible, they spread like wildfire! They burrow into your skin and multiply. It really does not take long to become infested. They are extremely contagious, therefore it is vital to treat all family members or even friends who have been in close contact with the patient recently.
Something that is important to take note of is that a person does not have to, have any visible scabie pimples, sores, people can be silent carriers. I think it's safe to say that no-one reading this, wants the mites as pictiured on the left crawling and burrowing into their skin.
In this lens you will learn all about the scabies mite, their cycle, how to treat them, the disadvantages of the creams given by doctors and much more. See a video of the mites to get to learn more about what you have crawling around you if you have them. You will also learn how to make home remedies for scabies from the contents of your pantry and if thats not for you, then don't worry we have other options aswell.
How Easy is it to Get Scabies ?
Skin to skin contact is needed for scabies to spread. A simple prolonged handshake is enough to pass the scabies on. Common places for the disease to spread are childcare centres, schools, hospitals or aged care centres. Basically any place where there is a large number of people. This is due to the constant skin contact between them.
Scabies can develop into Norwegian Scabies otherwise known as Crusted Scabies in those people who have a weak immune system who are malnourished.

Would you Own Up ?
There is a stigma that is attached to Scabies, that it is a dirty disease - this is not true. As you will have discovered from this lens scabies is highly contagious and therefore it is easy to get infected.

Stop Beating Yourself Up!
Having scabies does not mean that you are dirty or unclean. Most people (me included) start to question how clean their house is and personal hygiene - DONT BEAT YOURSELF UP. Scabies is highly contagious and spreads rapidly. You could have got scabie from anywhere.

He contracted this again and in fear of cancer we were hesitant to use the "cream" the doctors wanted us to use. After three days there was a marked improvement Now I tell everyone who has scabies or bedbugs to use Neem it really works!!!
Have you Ever Had Scabies ?
How Do You Get Scabies ?
If you are reading this and you or a family member have scabies, you will know what a nightmare they can be. When my 5 year old got them, it was awful.
The first thing you think (apart obviously from wanting to get rid of them) is where could the scabies have come from? I still don't know where Harry got his, but, I do know I blamed myself thinking, I dont understand, my house is clean - maybe I should wash the bedding every week instead of every week and a half. I pratically tortured myself looking for an explanation.
All I could put it down to was school, but no other Mums had mentioned it - but lets face it, most Mums dont broadcast it (me included). I did tell his teacher so that she was able to look out for anyone itching and she did mention it to Mums (keeping Harry anonymous) the next night at a parent evening.
I now know not to blame myself for Harrys scabies outbreak as anyone can get them. In fact humans atrract the annoying little mites, through warmth. They are extremely contagious, moving easily from one person to another. They are passed through skin contact , clothing and other things shared from one person to another, as they are unable to jump or fly.
There are more people now searching for Home Remedies for Scabies. This maybe due to the fact that we are now discovering that these creams can cause many side effects. In fact some of the creams ingredients have been linked to cancer and leukemia !
Scary stuff hey? Unfortunately this is what it has now come to, big companies, thinking only of profits.

samsaradakini says:
please. i trust myself over the day to day. i am invested. to any doctor i am one patient out of scores she'll see in a day AND she's not invested. once, when i was dying, i trusted her completely... but even then they needed weeks to figure out what was wrong.

It's not that they make a mistake, but they think about their career first, if they recommend something that is outside their pharmaceutical company sponsored medical school education, they can lose their license (if someone sues them, or whatever)

How Do You Get Scabies ?
One of the first questions....
What Does Scabies Look Like ?

This is how a Scabies infestation looks. However, it can actually look less 'angry'. My son, Harrys Scabies was just visible bumps on the arms and legs! So, in answer to the question, What Does Scabies Look Like? , it can present itself in different ways. Read on below for some Home Remedies for Scabies
So , How Do You Get Scabies ?
Scabies is highly contagious! If you know anyone who has Scabies keep away until they hae been treated. The same goes if you have it stay away from others until you have been treated
Is It Scabies ?

Doctors will often not diagnose scabies correctly on the first visit. It could be treated as eczema or a similar allergy. Whilst the scabies are not being treated they will spread so is it is vital to get the diagnosis correct as soon as possible.
So when asking the question 'Is It Scabies ?', the signs to look out for include a skin rash that is made up of small bumps or Itching - mainly on a night or after a hot bath
Any small burrows or tunnels that can be seen on the skin - the best way to see these is through a microscope (the little microscopes that you can pick up at the chemist come in really handy for diagnosis of scabies or head lice etc)
If a doctor suspects that it is scabies they may take a scraping of the skin to get it tested. If you think you have scabies but have been told that you dont, take a look at the points above under 'Is It Scabies ?' and the best way of diagnosing the itch is:

Kleen Free for Scabies..
It works by attacking the bugs exoskeleton and causing it to shed its skin prematurely.
Here's Zack Lee from California's review on Kleen Free Our house had a horrible case of scabies or mites (we weren't sure what they were at first) and we wanted a Non-Toxic and safe product to kill them. We tried all kinds of stuff that didn't work.. but the Kleen Free worked great. We sprayed it on our furniture, bathed in it, washed our clothes with it and it killed all the bugs. We have kids and pets and it was totally safe around them. Thank you.. highly recomended.

What You Will Need to Burn Scabies
A Magnifying Glass and the SunMethod to Burn scabies
Hold a magnifying glass over your skin, whilst the sun is burning down for a short time - not enough to burn yourself. This will hopefully zap the scabies mite dead.I have not tried this method - so if you do give it a try please let me know how you get on. The scabies mites do not like heat

Tea Tree Oil works wonders for scabies, killing the mites. It is also good in helping to relieve the itch.
Application for Scabies
The Tea Tree Oil needs applying every time you itch, before bed at night, in the morning and any bits inbetween. That's the beauty of a home remedy for scabies - no harmful chemicals making you afraid of not to apply often !
It may dry the skin out a bit but the relief from the itching and the fact that you are eliminating the scabies will compensate this and using a good moisturiser will solve the dryness.

Getting Rid Of Scabies
All bedding must be washed.
Any clothing that has been worn in the last week needs washing.
Clean carpets and mattresses with a good vacuum - I steam cleaned mine.
Cuddly toys should either be washed or put in a bin bag and left there for 2 weeks. This will ensure that the mites die - they can not live for long away from human body.
IF YOU DONT DO THIS THEY WILL COME BACK!

Life Cycle Of Scabies Mite
The female mites are the ones that cause the damage, infecting us. She must be pregnant to spread the itching mites. Once she has found her target (the human she is going to live on) she goes off to find a good area to lay her eggs. The areas they usually pick are areas such as between the fingers, wrists, under arms or any areas with tucks, folds or crevices. (This is not always the case though - my son had them on his arms and legs, he did have them on his wrists but not inbetween fingers.)
When she has found the perfect area to lay her eggs. The female mite lays 2 or 3 eggs a day! The eggs are usually no more than 0.20 mm in length. It takes 3 or 4 days for the eggs to hatch into larvae. Then over the next few days the larvae then transforms into adolescent mite.
Only 10% of eggs hatch into males, the rest are female. Once a month the male mite mates with the female - he has many females to choose from!. The female mite is then pregnant and again she goes to find a good area to lay her eggs. Then it all begins again!

Do you Think Your Pet may Have Scabies ?
The Itch May Stay for a While.....

It can take anywhere up to 6 weeks of being infected with scabies until a person actually starts itching. This is the same for anyone who the scabies patient passes the mites onto. However, if a person has previously had scabies and is re-infected the itch can start almost immediately.
When the scabies has gone the itch can remain for a while even though the treatment has been done. Some people can itch for over a month after the treatment causing confusion as to whether the treatment actually worked. If treatment is correctly applied to all family members and bedding and clothes etc are treated, then it's just a case of waiting to see if the itching decreases.
