Homeopathic Medicine for Animals

In the world of homeopathic medicine, vets are opting to use this alternative form of treatment for animals. The theory is that if homeopathic medicine is effective on humans, why not on animals.

Because there is no definitive clinical data to support the effects of homeopathy treatment on animals, it is nonetheless a viable alternative for some vets. The idea behind homeopathy is that ìlike cures likeî. Thus, no matter what is ailing a particular animal, treating it with a similar remedy is the basis of homeopathic medicine.

Homeopathic remedies are diluted down and the water that is left is proposed to have properties which not only enhance the dose given, but acts as a curative agent. According to one homeopathic vet, ìthe mechanism of action of these diluted remedies may involve electromagnetic memory or some sort of sub-molecular action, but that research into the whys and wherefores is in its infancy. However, in spite of the lack of research into the mode of operation, the clinical trials have indicated that the remedies do work.î

Here is an example of how a homeopathic vet would treat an animal. Suppose the animal swallowed a household toxin. Once identified, the homeopathic vet would treat the animal with a remedy that is similar to that which was swallowed. Again, like cures like.

There have been quite a few studies on animals to determine whether or not homeopathic medicines work. Adding remedies to their drinking water, for example, may have a curative effect. In addition, it is apparent through these studies that even though the remedies are diluted, they do produce results.

Here is a case study of the treatment of a cat using homeopathic remedies. The cats body was covered with open sores. Although she had been given a myriad of conventional drugs and vaccinations, there was no improvement. A homeopathic vet was called. A complete history was taken of the cat, as well as her personality, habits, and anything and everything the owner could provide. After studying the case, the homeopathic vet decided on sulphur as the remedy. After a few months, the cat responded. The sores began to dissipate and the cat was finally cured.

ìLike cures like.î This is the fundamental basis on which all remedies in homeopathic medicine are derived. Thus, homeopathic medicine for animals is on the rise. Until and unless more clinical trials are commenced, opponents of homeopathy will not be swayed. However, the case cited is just one of many successful results occurring throughout the world. Homeopathic medicine for animals is becoming a viable alternative and provides a natural way of healing.

I went to a vet one time and she started swinging the pendelum and told me my dog needed all these bottles of pills from here. Over 90.00 and it turned out to be an obstruction. My dog almost died!
