A Non-Stick Pan is Highly Recommended

Trust me. You'll want to use a non-stick pan when making my honey walnut candy recipe. It does get a bit sticky. This one by Cuisinart is a great choice.

Georgian Honey-Walnut Candy Recipe

Georgian Honey-Walnut Candy is not icky sweet and in fact has a slight bitterness to it. Be careful, it's rich flavor can become quite addicting.

Ingredients:

1 cup honey
2 Tablespoons water
2 cups unsalted walnuts, chopped

Directions:

Combine Honey and water in a skillet.

Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until the honey begins to caramelize (get thick) and turn brown. Be careful, it bubbles.

Remove from heat and add chopped walnuts.

Stir until all walnuts are covered with honey.

Pour mixture onto a wax paper covered plate and press down until the candy is flat. You can use the back side of a spoon or top the candy with another piece of wax paper and press with your hands.

When the candy has cooled, break into bite sized pieces and enjoy!

The Georgian Feast

A Georgian Cookbook

According to Georgian legend, God took a supper break while creating the world. He became so involved with his meal that he inadvertently tripped over the high peaks of the Caucasus, spilling his food onto the land below. The land blessed by Heaven's table scraps was Georgia.
Nestled in the Caucasus mountain range between the Black and Caspian seas, the Republic of Georgia is as beautiful as it is bountiful. The unique geography of the land, which includes both alpine and subtropical zones, has created an enviable culinary tradition. In The Georgian Feast, Darra Goldstein explores the rich and robust culture of Georgia and offers a variety of tempting recipes.
The book opens with a fifty-page description of the culture and food of Georgia. Next are over one hundred recipes, often accompanied by notes on the history of the dish. Holiday menus, a glossary of Georgian culinary terms, and an annotated bibliography round out the volume.

Oh, no! Teachers that have not heard of Georgia? Tell me it isn't so. That could be a whole niche. Have you heard of ___blank__(any country)? Then see how many people actually have not. What a simple recipe, and just last night I spent $14. on honey almonds and pecans.
Thanks! Now I can make my own. You were so quick on the "Get Cracking" post. Excellent job you two are doing there.
