Is it always best to import directly from Hong Kong?

No! There are a few reasons you should consider buying a gadget from a retailer in your own country. Firstly, gadgets being sent from Hong Kong can take much longer to arrive so if you're needing a new flashlight for a camping trip at the weekend you should not import it! Secondly, in many cases the consumer protection laws in your own country will ensure a better experience if you have any problems with your gadget or wish to return it. Thirdly, it isn't always cheaper to import from Hong Kong - especially when you consider you may have to pay 25% import duties on larger items.

Still like 80% of the time it is cheaper to buy directly from Asia. Especially on products like electronics, gadgets or clothing. Only downside is that you have to wait 2-3 weeks and some shops are not safe. There are websites like www.cheap-asia.com tho, what can help you find out what shops are safe and what are not.
