Chapter 2 Many Places To See and True Stories To Tell
Ranked #51,026 in Travel & Places, #1,291,661 overall
Is Camp Hosting For You?
Every place I have Camp Hosted at, people say, "I want your job!" Or "How do I get this kind of job?"
First, If you are in it for the money.. Please stop and look elsewhere. That is my advise to those people.
If you love nature, animals and people, maybe this might for you.
Be Advised .. You will spend a lot of time with your better half! Can you spend a good portion of your time in a small 26 foot trailer, about 4 grown men put end to end, without killing each other?
I have been married, to my best friend, for over 37 years, but she still kicks me out of the trailer at times, to give her and my myself alone time.
I love to talk with people, and I look for Camp Hosting jobs that has "Meet and Greet". Even if that is NOT in the job description. I still like to talk to each camper a number of times a day. Most campers have stories and want to share them with us.
Some campgrounds give you the "Offical" Camp Host Hat/Cap. That gives you an opening to start talking with people. From "How was your night?" "How was the fishing" to "How was the hike?" Almost call campers want to tell someone about their day or night.
If there is a fire pit at my host site, I start a campfire in the early morning for about 2 hours to welcome people over with their coffee, tea or just their stories, and most people come up and want to talk.
Some Camp Hosts, try to hide and are afraid to talk to people. Some Camp Hosts tell me the campers ask the same questions. If that gets to you so much, make a list, hand the list to the campers and say refer to number 5. I can always relate a story to each thing on the list that I want to tell the campers. Or change the stories up.
I feel these Camp Hosts lose the experience that comes with the perks of the job. I have met people from all over the world and they all love to tell me their tales.
If you don't like bugs or animals, you might want to pass up Camp Hosting, or stay at a city Campground. The more birds, bears, deer, foxes, frogs, snake and everything mother nature has to offer, the more pictures, thrills and stories for us and you.
Also, learning how to deal with all the animals, bugs and etc. is a great perk!
There are so many Camp Host Positions and I am trying to find out all about each one of them.
A Great Way To See America, Canada and Mexico, on the Cheap!

It is a good thing you are doing and I do hope you will keep on giving. By the way I will leave your blog through one of your advertisers that is of interest to me.
