It's All In The Art Cards . . .

Card Shows and Card Tricks, this is my House of Art Cards.

Like magic, you'll never know what you'll see next, as this site is something spontaneous as inspired by the magic of art, music, and you.

This is The House Of Art Cards, specializing in the art of ACEOs and ATCs, that is Art Card Editions and Originals, and Artist Trading Cards, artists and card makers. These are usually one of a kind works of art on the small or miniature scale.

The ACEO House Of Cards

Sara Palin - 2008 Election

The House Of Cards provides defines the various uses of cards and examples of all the different types of cards there are today, and includes the definition of the Artist Trading Card. Throughout history baseball trading cards, tobacco trading cards, and advertising trading cards, etc., have been considered low key commodities in the collectors' markets.

Thanks to a small group of artists in the early part of Y2K, the artist card is building a bridge between the artist and collector. An artist card is the exact dimensions of the standard regulation playing card, 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches in size..

So long as the size does not vary, artists are free to use whatever form of materials desired. Art card construction ranges from mixed media to classic oil, watercolor, or acrylic paintings. Digital art and photography, wood burning, quilt, embroidery design, marker, pen, ink, pencil, wood burning, metal embossing, card embellishing, collage and more. When it comes to subject matter the sky is the limit, and due to the art's small size - anything is possible.

Part of the beauty of the art card is its convenience. An ACEO or ATC art card is small enough to fit anywhere. It is easy to ship and receive. The best part of all is its affordability. Plus, original works of art can easily be obtained artists direct. Unknown and well known artists alike create products that are very collectible.

The Art Card Blogs

Recipe Art Card by Tonie Cook

When searching for a good art card recipe, look no further than the art card blogs.
Postcards from Staten Island artists
Officially an ATC becomes an ACEO (Art Card Edition or Original) once it's purchased. Ms. Priebe logs a lot of time marauding in on-line trading posts. Still, when she put out a call for the current show, she hardly expected an international response.

The origin and popularity of Art Card Editions and Originals (ACEOs) began at eBay. Artist Jillian Crider was one of the pioneers of the art, and her work can be found there and many places around the internet. Below is my blog feed on the latest original artists cards available on eBay today. The artwork displayed is from the artists direct, and the below list is scheduled to update hourly.

Card Notes

Compact Art by Tonie Cook

Hello everyone. As it took me two years to finally get to this point, it is with great hope that this site provides help to my fellow artists who enjoy creating and collecting aceo artist trading cards.

f you were looking for specific information about art cards that you did not find here, please leave me a card note and I will respond in kind.

If you are an artist with a question about a 'how to' technique, please leave me a card note, and if I do not know the answer to your question, I will direct you to where your answer can be found.

If you are a friend who just wants to say hello, you are welcome to leave a card note here, too. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to stop by.

This has got to be one of my favorite blog spots. A broken lens that has a guest book that only I can post in. My own 'soap box,' so to speak. Anyway, the past five months have been something else. During this time somehow I turned into a Giant Squid, made many friends, created many works of art, and survived being Stung By A Yellow Jacket (http://www.squidoo.com/yellowjacket)

Well, when checking to see if this site is working, I found it still is not. Therefore, this is will serve as my blog until someone figures out how to help me edit the site to make it more interesting.

My latest site creation is about Tracy McCool of Fox 8 News Cleveland. What a trooper! This morning anchor and role model! She worked throughout her two pregnancies, has caught snakes, cooked, and refinished her deck on the morning show -- and this morning she was dunked into a huge vat of water on the Fox 8 studio grounds! To find out a bit more about this talented lady, you can go here: http://www.squidoo.com/TracyMcCool
    Have a great day everyone!
