How Can A Civil Rights Lawyer Protect Your Civil Rights?
Ranked #135,369 in Business & Work, #1,058,912 overall
The term civil rights is also used to refer to certain constructive actions taken by the government to protect or extend the rights of certain groups of people, who were hitherto denied full rights or opportunities under the U.S. Constitution. This kind of civil rights is usually guaranteed through statutes like, for instance, the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which empowers the federal government to prevent employment discrimination on the basis of race, gender, nationality, religion, or ethnic origin.
If ever a person's Constitutional rights are violated by any private or government agency, he or she can seek the advice of a Civil Rights Lawyer to protect their rights.

Privileges And Immunities
These are two important provisions in the Constitution that protect the rights of American citizens. The first one, "privileges" provides that the citizens of each state have the same 'Privileges' and 'Immunities' as the citizens of other states. In other words, the Constitution accords the same rights and privileges to citizens of all states with respect to advantages resulting from citizenship in those states and citizenship in the United States. According to the second provision, which appears in section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment, "No state shall make or enforce any law which shall curtail the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States". This law or idea that prevents discrimination against citizens of other states became, in due course, "the basis of the Union." Look of the Day

So What Constitutes Discrimination?
If the personal liberties guaranteed to every U. S. citizen, have been violated, the person should consult a Civil Rights Lawyer to claim damages. The underlying principle is that no one should be discriminated against on the basis of the circumstances into which they were born. For example, if a person has been denied rights on the basis of his race, he can seek the advice of a Racial Discrimination Attorney. But, this does not mean that every act of discrimination implies violation of law and necessitates litigation. For instance, a person may be treated differently in, say, an employment recruitment process by virtue of his height or the way a he grooms his hair, but this does not constitute violation of civil rights and liberties, and may be justified as part of the specific requirements of employment. An act becomes discrimination if and only if it is on the basis of certain characteristics that the law protects, such as religion, sex, or ethnicity. NBA Hornets Fan
