How Long Does It Take To Learn Spanish?

How long does it take to learn Spanish is a question often asked by potential Spanish language scholars. However, there can be no set answer to such a query sense there are too many variables concerned.

What is the language aptitude of the student learning the language? How much work will the person put into basically learning Spanish? What Spanish language learning program does the student use? Does the student study with a personal mentor, in a tiny class environment with other students, in a huge university type class, or with a home study program that uses books, audio, multimedia, and computer software, or will the student learn the language while residing in a country where the language is spoken natively? How good is the teacher or program being used?

How Long Does It Take To Learn Spanish? Is A Question With Multiple Answers

Since the answers to all of these variables will determine how long it takes to learn Spanish, there can be no simple response to the question. I've known scholars who have learned a high level of conversational Spanish within six months and are absolutely relaxed talking it in almost all eventualities. On the other hand, I've known scholars who have studied the language off and on for over forty years and still have only a low level of Spanish speaking abilities.

So, instead of trying to come up with a specific period of time to reply to the question, "how long does it take to learn Spanish?", I am going to offer what in my experience is the most rapid process for learning Spanish. And the 1st tip is a student of any foreign language should try to use as many chances to have interaction with the language as possible.

First, the study room environment takes much too long if it's the only method being used. I much favor a good quality home study method that will permit you to proceed at your own pace and if you are truly serious about learning the language, it's going to be at a much quicker pace than the classroom will provide.

Good Quality Interactive Multimedia Spanish Language Learning Programs Increase Learning Speed

How Long Does It Take To Learn Spanish? It Depends On Your Efforts and the Quality Of the Spanish Course You Are Using

First, the study room environment takes much too long if it's the only method being used. I much favor a good quality home study method that will permit you to proceed at your own pace and if you are truly serious about learning the language, it's going to be at a much quicker pace than the classroom will provide.

Pick up a good quality interactive program that includes written Spanish, audio lessons, and multimedia lessons. The audio lessons should be able to be downloaded onto a portable gadget such as an iPod or iPod like listening device. If you are going to learn the language, you'll be wanting to be in a position to read it, write it, speak it, and understand it ( listening abilities ), If your program does not address all of these areas, it shouldn't be used alone, but will require additional supporting material.

Spanish Language Learning Programs Providing A Solid Foundation In Basic Spanish

How Long Does It Take To Learn Spanish? It Partly Depends On The Program You Choose.

One such top quality program is Rocket Spanish. It is a program that addresses all 4 areas of language learning and will provide a superb foundation of basic Spanish and have you talking conversational Spanish swiftly. Another good quality program is the widely recognized Rosetta Stone program which also addresses each of the four major elements of language learning. Rosetta Stone offers 2 versions of their Spanish program, a Latin American Spanish version and a "Spain" version. Rosetta Stone, is costlier than Rocket Spanish and it will take you a little longer to really develop conversational Spanish, but it will also provide a great foundation for future learning.

To Master The Spanish Language Requires Ongoing Use And Practice

How Long Does It Talk to Learn Spanish? There Is No Single Answer.

So while there is no express answer to the question, "How long does it take to learn Spanish?" there are things you can do to maximize the rate with which you learn the language. If you really wish to learn Spanish quickly, Rocket Spanish and Rosetta Stone Spanish taken together will work synergistically to quickly develop your language speaking skills. But no program will enable you to be a truely fluent Spanish speaker by itself. Continued exposure to the language and practice with talking and reading it are needed. One way of accomplishing this and continually augmenting your Spanish language talents is to subscribe to either "Puerta del Sol Audio Magazine" or Think Spanish Audio Magazine that is for intermediate-to-advanced Spanish language learners", and to join a Meetup group near you that is focused on learning Spanish.

I think how fast you learn Spanish depends also on what is your native language. As if your native lalnguage is french or italian then it would be really easy and fast to master Spanish as latin languages are very similar.
I found this rocket spanish review very helpful and informative.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have mastered both languages perfectly. However, I decided to learn French some time ago. I purchased two computer programs which are Rosetta Stone French and Rocket French. I began learning French with Rosetta Stone two months ago. The program is effective, after this short period of time I am able to have a small conversation in French, I can write, read, think and even dream in French. I have the full package which includes 5 software CD's, 5 audio CD's to download in your ipod or iphone. If you have an iphone you can download the Rosetta Stone application to reinforce your skill. Once I finish with the Rosetta Stone program after a few months then, I will continue with the Rocket French. This program will help me even further with French. It comes with15 CD's for interactive audio lessons, 1 CD software for games, 1 CD for language & culture lessons and 3 CD's for bonus audio tracks. I also read French articles and new vocabulary words everyday. Another good exercise I try is watching films with French audio with subtitles in French. l listen to French radio on the iphone when I'm away. Finally, I use Google Translate for words and full sentences and I write then down on a notebook and read them on a daily basis. I think with one year I should be in an advance level before I leave for Paris next year.
