Why Do You Have Bad Breath?

You brush and floss your teeth, don't you? So you can't understand why you still have bad breath.

Brushing and flossing are the basics - the starting points if you will. But you have to do them properly. When you brush, make sure that you use an up and down movement of your toothbrush. This will clean the teeth right up to the gumline. A lot of people don't manage to clean all the way to the gumline, which means that plaque can grow in that area, which means that bacteria have a place in which to thrive. A power brush is best for this as it cleans far more effectively than doing it manually, and because of it's spinning brush it will clean in an up and down manner.

Same with flossing - you need to effectively remove any food debris and plaque from between your teeth. A power flosser can remove more plaque and food residue than manually flossing.

How You Drink Your Bad Breath

Drinking water is also important for preventing (and getting rid of) bad breath. Most people don't drink enough water anyway, so the chances are that you fall into this category.

Put simply, when we drink water, we wash away food particles and plaque - and we also stimulate our mouth to produce more saliva. This is important because saliva is our body's way of cleaning out the mouth.

Most people though, drink coffee during the day. How about you? Do you drink coffee instead of water? Coffee has the opposite effect of water. It dries out the mouth so that it produces less saliva. That means less of the body's natural cleaning mechanism.

More Ways To Drink Your Bad Breath

And then in the evening, most people have a beer or a glass of wine. Guess what? You already knew that alcohol was bad for you didn't you?

But you didn't know that it was bad for your breath did you? And as far as your breath goes, it has a double whammy.

Alcohol has the same mouth drying effect as coffee. Which means that your mouth produces less saliva to clean itself out. That's whammy number one.

The other point about alcohol is that it provides a perfect environment for bacteria to thrive in - heck, alcohol is made from bacteria breaking down yeast. So it's already teeming with bacteria. That's the second whammy.

And that's what your beer and your wine does for you - oh yeah, your alcohol based mouthwash does the same thing!!!

Yep - You Guessed It - You Eat Your Bad Breath Too!

My goodness! Isn't there anything that we can do without getting bad breath?

If you eat strong foods like garlic, onions, cheese, fish - you can give yourself an instant bad breath. But you knew that, didn't you. You smell it coming from other people. So they smell it coming from you.

And you Smoke A Bad Breath Too

And if you smoke - well then you have what is known as "smoker's breath". This is a special sort of bad breath which comes from smoking.

As well as being bad for you, smoking also gives you bad breath. The only people who probably won't notice this bad breath are your smoking buddies. That's because their noses have become desensitised to the bad smell of their own smoker's breath - so they don't smell yours.

But anybody else in your life, anyone who doesn't smoke - they will smell it.

How To Get Rid Of Your Bad Breath

If only there was a simple and easy way to get rid of bad breath.

And if it worked fast that would be really good, too.

You're in luck. I'm not saying you don't need to look after your teeth, or drink more water, or cut out coffe and alcohol or smoking. You should do all those things.

But you should get yourself this as well:
