Why Should You Become a Police Officer

If you still have doubt about becoming a cop, here are some of the benefits:
  1. Police officers enjoy a greater job security than most other employees

  2. You can help people in your community and earn their undying respect and admiration

  3. Cops enjoy a steady pension and benefits

  4. You get to wear a uniform which is a nice perk in itself

  5. You really make a difference in your work

  6. Police work is very interesting and diverse

  7. The police force is a tight knit community in which people care for their own much better than in other work places

Now that you're convinced, let's see what you can do to become a police officer.

What Education Do You Need To Become a Police Officer

Most police departments require that you have a formal education. A high school degree is a must for most departments and an academic degree of some sort is recommended and can increase your chances.

You should also consider taking some courses in Criminal Behavior and law issues. These courses are usually available at most colleges.

Of course, if you're looking for specialized roles within the department, you may need additional learning. For instance, being a CSI officer requires knowledge in science and forensics.

Of course, your learning should include a continuous study for passing the police exam. I highly recommend this resource which was created by Sgt. George Goodoy: Police Exam Tips and Secrets.

Background Check

When you try to become a policeman or a policewoman you're going to undergo some sort of background check. If you have a criminal record, your chances of ever being a cop are very slim.

But it doesn't stop there. If you have outstanding parking tickets or other fines, take care of them before applying for the force. It's just good practice to come as clean as you can.

Police Civil Service Exam and other exams

This part is one of the trickiest. Many people fail to pass the police exam which are divided into written and oral exams.

The way to pass the exams is through training and practice. There's simply no other way. Know that in order to have an advantage over the other applicants, or even stay in the same playing field with them, as many of them will also practice, you must prepare for the exam.

The written and oral exams are things you can prepare for. You just need to get into the proper mindset, know the material, and know what the recruiting officers are looking for in a fellow cop.

That's why I highly recommend that you use this learning resource
==> Police Exam 911 Preparation Center.

In this resource, former recruitment officer Sgt. George Godoy teaches you exactly how to take the test and pass it like a champ. If you really want to become a police officer, don't leave things to chance.

Physical Exam

Of course, cops should also be physically fit.

This is something which you'll also be tested upon in the academy, but also before. The police force doesn't want to take any chances with unfit people as they're less likely to make it through the academy.

Now is the time to shed those excess pounds and get into shape.

I recommend using this program, which is a great way to shed pound And and get into shape at the same time.

==> Turbulence Training Workouts.

The Academy

If you passed through all of the initial filters, you'll arrive at the academy.

From then on it is hard work, but being admitted to the academy means that you've been deemed fit to be a cop. Now it's up to you to not screw things up.

I have faith in you.

Maintain a high motivation, study hard, work hard, and you can be another boy or girl in blue.

Make us all proud.
