Bedbugs are more active at night and hide during the day. Bedbugs typically cluster together in a favorable spot such as your bed and mattress but can also be found in neighboring areas such as baseboards, night tables cracks in wood floors and other furniture. Bedbug bites will go away anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. It depends on how allergic you are to them. The itching will stop first and the bite mark will gradually disappear.

When residual sprays were used to kill the more common insect pests, they resulted in the collateral control of bedbug populations. The gel-based insecticides primarily used today to control cockroach and ant populations do not have any effect on bedbugs, as bed bugs are not attracted to baits.
