Why Most People Fail To Lose Their Love Handles

Most people try to lose their love handles by doing specific love handles exercises (some of which I'll describe further down this webpage). The reason these people fail to eliminate their love handles, is that their doing only a third of what they need to be doing.

If you're asking how to get rid of love handles, the answer is in 3 parts:

  1. Specific love handles and abdominal exercises

  2. Complete body workouts to burn the most fat

  3. A Sensible and healthy diet to aid the fat loss process


The reason why doing exercises for your love handles isn't enough is that these exercises may develop the underlying waist muscles, but they do very little to burn off the thick layer of fat which lies on top. That can only be done by doing complete body workouts, both strength and aerobic, combined with a good and healthy diet.

Most people fail to lose their love handles because they try to spot reduce the fat on both sides of their waist.This approach can have only limited success. That's why, I'm going to review 2 programs which can help you lose that fat.

The first is called Truth About Abs, which was created by Mike Geary, an renowned trainer and expert on abs. This program takes the approach that in order to get the kind of abs and love handles that we all desire, you need to take an overall approach. In his program Mike Geary teaches you how to do short but intensive overall body workouts which will reduce you fat percentage leading to flatter abs and firmer love handles. This program puts the emphasis on abs, but as you'll see in the exercises which I'll describe further below, Love Handles are worked in a similar way to the obliques abdominals, and in fact, firming your stomach will definitely lead to smaller love handles. The second program I want you to know about is called Remove Your Love Handles by Jeff Collinswood, also known as the Love Handles Expert. This is the only educational fitness program I know which is focused on love handles. In this sense, it's unique. Love Handles Exercise #1 - Waist Bends 

Take a dumbbell in your right hand, stand with your feet slightly apart and place your left hand on your left waist. Now, slowly bend your wiast to the right until your right hand (with the dumbbell) passes your right knee. Rise back.

Repeat this motion 10-12 times and then switch sides. You will feel you waist straining. You're slowly firming up the underlying muscles in your waist.

Love Handles Exercise #2 - Obliques Crunches 

In order to firm up your love handles, you should invest some of your time in oblique crunches.

Lie down on the floor or rug just like for a regular sit-up. Raise your upper body diagonally towards one knee and then the other. You'll feel your abs and sides straining like mad.

Get Rid Of Love Handles Diet Tips 

Here are some dietary tips for you to follow in order to lose overall body fat and reducing your love handles:

  • Avoid white carbs like regular pasta, rice, or white flour bread. Eat whole flour pasta or bread, and brown rice

  • Avoid fatty salad dressings like mayonnaise. Use olive oil instead

  • Avoid processed sugar. It's one of the worst things out there

  • Limit your alcohol intake. You can have 1-2 drinks once in a while, but alcohol has a ton of empty calories. Try to keep it down

  • Avoid sodas and sugary beverages. These drinks contain a lot of sugar and they never fill you up so you end up eating more

  • Eat a lot of fresh vegetables. Even frozen vegetables are great, but nothing beats them when they're fresh

  • Drink 8-12 glasses of water each day. It gets your body to function better overall and to burn fat faster

  • Eat lean protein to develop your muscles. Eggs, turkey, chicken breast, and fish are excellent sources of protein and are very lean

Love Handles Exercise #3 - Waist Crunches 

Lie on the floor with bended knees like in a regular crunch. Lower both knees to the right until your right knee is flat on the floor and the left knee is lying on top of it.

Raise your torso straight up like in a regular sit-up, only this time you're working the waist muscles. Do 10-20 repetitions of this routine and then switch sides.

Get Rid Of Love Handles Tip - The Right Way To Do Cardio 

Most people do cardiovascular routines in a way which doesn't burn fat optimally. Most people do cardio at a constant pace for 30-60 minutes. This is better than nothing but it isn't the best.

What you need to do is do interval cardio training. Why is this better? It's better because you're training your heart across an entire range of intensity levels, making it stronger. You also boost your metabolism higher in this way.

I learned this from Truth About Abs. As soon as I started implementing this, my fitness levels skyrockets and my body fat percentage plummeted. You should do the same.

In Conclusion 

To sum things up, it's entirely up to you to lose your love handles. I'm not suggesting that it's the easiest thing in the world, but since many other people have done it, you can do it too.
