Making special friends in a bar can be challenging but a few simple tricks can get you introduced and get you on the good side of the cutie you've been checking out all night.

Non-verbal flirting
Making eye contact and smiling is a good way to test the waters before you offer to buy her (or him) a drink. If your target returns your smile or eye contact, move on in. If you get a glare or if they just avert their eyes, move on to another target.

Verbal communication
If you've gotten a non-verbal go-ahead from your target, it's time to start a conversation. This can be the hardest part. You'll need an opening line and "come here often" or something else equally cheesy may not go over well.

Say you did ask the cutie at the bar which is better zombie movies or slasher movies, and you had a rousing debate on horror cinema, this is your chance to ask if he or she has seen thew new Saw movie and if not see if he or she wants to come out with you next weekend to see it.
