- Good ideas, I stumbled upon by chance - thus also introduced myself to Squidoo too. My book is selling slowly, but it's early days yet, and I don't have too much time to promote it, but when I can...
Anyway, thanks for the help!

- This is an excellent resource for self-publishers! Squidoo does indeed offer you a lot of opportunities and with over a million people writing on the platform, and Google liking the site, it's a win-win for Authors.

- As a self-published author, I must say that your lens is jam-packed with great information! My self-published book is included in my http://www.squidoo.com/ creative-art2 lens. I have not specifically written a lens yet to promoto my book. Hmmm, maybe that could be my next lens.

- wyrm11268: Thank you for the information. My husband wrote a book and published it on CreateSpace. We are also on a budget and have been looking for ways to get his book out to the public for free or little cost. We don't want to do the big marketing plans until we have more to offer to make it worthwhile. I will be looking into creating a lens for his book. Thanks!

I came across it in a google search this afternoon, and your information sold me on joining Squidoo and creating my first lens for my writing journal, 365 Things to Write About. - Self publishing is really tough. Getting your book up is easy but the promoting part is where it gets hard. I've enjoyed a little bit of success but it's reviews that make people want to read a book. I would love if you or anyone else would check out my Squidoo and possibly my ebook Electrify Me for 0.99 cents. Thank you guys and I hope you have a happy new year.

- Great lens with some very useful tips. Good job! :-)
Another great way to become self published is to submit your book into SmashWords and of course, Amazon Kindle. SmashWords is free and will distribute your book into places that are ordinary difficult for new authors (like Barnes & Noble, iBooks, etc).
I posted a bit of information on it over on my lens if anyone needs a bit of guidance:

- Hi leeshay,
Thanks for visiting and good luck with you book. Hope you finish it soon.
If you have a talent for making book covers then I am sure there a lot of people that would like your help. I would suggest looking in forums for self publishers. Blurb has one on their site, Lulu etc.
You could also Start your own squidoo lens they are very easy to do. Then you could talk about your experiences, your book in progress, and how much you enjoy making book covers.
You will then have a way for people to contact you if they would like a cover made and when your own book is finished make another lens and link the two.
This makes it easier to post in forums about your service with a link to your squidoo lens for more information etc.
If you decide to do that then just follow everything in my lens How To Sell A Self published Book to find out how to get it ranked for your keyword.
Good luck.

- Now that Blurb provides a book preview widget, that works great on Squidoo. Just paste the html for the widget into a Squidoo text module and save it. I'm adding it to all my Squidoo lenses promoting my mother's book, My Flint Hills Childhood.
I'll lensroll this to my lens on ways to promote a self-published book.

- Excellent lens! Internet social networking sites like Squidoo are perfect for marketing books, e-books, or anything, really.
There's a great new resource that helps authors out with the marketing scene of their new books called Book Marketing 3.0. It implements a lot of ideas regarding Squidoo and other social networking sites as well as blogs and You Tube.
When you get a chance, please check out my How to Market a Book Squidoo Lens.
