What it Means to be Crunchy

Crunchy - What Does it Really Mean?

You have to think of it like this: CRUNCHY IS BETTER THAN SOGGY. I am proud to say that I am at least crispy around the edges. There are people out there who choose to ignore the fact that global warming exists. They think it is pointless to try to save our Earth, they are not going to be around when things start getting bad for them. But their grandchildren will. There are people who deny greenhouse gases and other harmful emmisions even effect the earth. What proof do we have? The fact is we have a lot. Then there are the green people. The Earth people, the tree huggers. The crunchy people. You have to admire these people and their crunchy ways, their cloth diapering and their Organic eating. Anybody who makes an effort to protect the earth should be proud of themselves. Here are ways that you too can green yourself, green your life and be crunchy.

I like to hug TREES

I care about being green because I care about myself and my family. I want them to eat healthy and natural, and breath clean air. I try to shop for green products using directorys such as http://www.greenyourself.org and wear green clothes. But I learnt the greenest thing I could do is to help other people to become green. I welcome advice and ideas on how to be green, and am learning new things everyday. New research is coming out regarding sustainable products and renewable energy. You too can become environmentally friendly and green yourself.

Protecting Our Environment Isn't Just Caring About Our Planet....

*It is about caring about ourselves and our health.*

How You can BE CRUNCHY too

Being crunchy means to cloth diaper. It means to make your own baby food and shop organic. If you are crunchy you probably make a lot of products from scratch or buy natural, organic, hormone free food products. If you are crunchy you probably wear organic cotton clothes and have something made from fast growing bamboo somewhere in your home. You may even have solar energy. If you are crunchy you probably drive a hybrid car or at least gas efficient vehicle. You take quick showers and don't leave lights on in your home. You may even walk through the dark to get where you are going to save energy. You have probably also been called a tree hugger at least once in your life. You probably buy green products from GreenYourself.org. If you are crunchy you should be proud of yourself. You care about your body, your planet and other people as well. And who wants to be SOGGY?

I'd never heard the term "crunchy" before, but I like it! It fits with being "green"...just think of nice green "crunchy" vegetables! :-) I think being "green" is just getting back to basics...the way things used to be. Being "green" isn't really different than what my parents, and even I, grew up with.

Cute lens! I was pegged with the term before I even knew what it meant... any clue where it originated? Is it because of granola? LoL.

I put my little one in cloth diapers, but he's happier when I just let him run around naked :)

I can't understand people who don't believe in the need to be greener or cruchier or whatever. Even if you don't believe in global warming can you believe in conservation, in the transition to renewable resources, in being conscientious, ....? Great lens!

I LOVE the title of this lens! I'm an aspiring Crunchy (not yet as green as I'd like to be) and I've always loved that term. It makes me smile. Let's hear it for the tree huggers!
