How I Lost 20 Pounds in Just 3 Weeks

I created a simple fat loss plan and focused on losing the pounds in the fastest, healthiest way possible. Below is a basic outline of what I did...
4 Steps to Losing 20 Pounds in 3 Weeks
For a 24-hour period, I ate nothing and drank only spring water with lots of fresh squeezed organic lemon juice added to it. After the 24 hour period I felt great. I felt cleansed and energized... and I'd even lost about a pound and a half! I liked the lemon water so much that I started drinking it every morning and I think it helped a lot.
Step 2: "Paleo-style" eating
During the 3 week period I ate almost no processed foods. I ate a type of "paleo style" diet. Mainly lean meats, fish and seafood, eggs, vegetables, raw fruits, nuts and seeds, and healthy fats (e.g. olive oil, avocado, and natural peanut butter). I also ate a serving or two of beans or legumes each day (even though these aren't typically included in paleo diets).
I also consumed 1 or 2 healthy protein shakes/smoothies each day, usually consisting of: whey protein powder, frozen fruit, natural peanut butter or almond butter, and low-fat milk or water. These shakes tasted great and were especially helpful when I was in a rush or just needed to get some protein and carbs after a tough workout.
Step 3: Short, intense workouts
I did short, intense workouts 4 or 5 days a week. I focused on "combo" workouts that included about 10-15 minutes of intense strength training (using mainly bodyweight exercises and light dumbbells) and 10-15 minutes of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) cardio. I kept the rest periods short and most of my workouts were under 30 minutes.
I found that doing this type of exercise was actually much easier and less boring than typical "cardio" workouts (e.g. jogging on a treadmill). They burned a ton of body fat and I started to see a big difference in my body in just a week!
Step 4: Supplement shortcuts
The only supplements I took during the 3 week period were: whey protein powder, omega-3 fats (fish oil capsules), and a good multivitamin. I felt that these supplements helped me recover much faster from my intense workouts. The whey powder especially was great and I consumed quite a lot of it.
Well... that's it! Those are the basic steps I took to lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks. Was it "easy"? Not necessarily... but it wasn't especially difficult either. Once you get into a routine and build some momentum, especially in terms of eating well and exercising regularly, the pounds literally start flying off.
If you need to lose some weight quickly, I definitely recommend giving the above steps a try. They worked better than any other diet or fitness program I've every tried.

- For the workouts, did you do 15 minutes strength, then 15 minutes HIIT, or did you do strength one day & then HIIt another? Thanks! Looking forward to trying this to get in shape for heading home :)

- I'm returning home from study abroad in approximately three weeks (maybe even less now) and I want to shed the pounds I gained while abroad. In total that's 10lbs, but I could stand to lose another 10 after that. This sounds very reasonable, so I'm definitely going to try it! - Wow!!! I am so excited about this article!!! I need to lose exactly 20 lbs for 3 wedding in 1 month n a half!!!!! i been working out but i keep feeding myself carbs.....I am gonna start this on Monday and will defo get back to you to tell you my results!!!! i know i can do this. i am 140 5'3!!!! wish me luck!

- I guess fast way to lose weight is doing excersice for an hour and a half no more eating fast foods too more veggies and fruits i was twelve years old n weigh 151 pound n i was 5"1 now i turned 13 and i weigh 115 pound n i am 5"3 so tell me if this works for u cuz it did to me :D

More Tips for Fast, Healthy Fat Loss

1. Get and stay focused.
Create a simple positive goal statement and read it out loud at least twice a day. This is a 100% proven way to help boost focus, motivation, and momentum for better results in less time.
Here's an example of a good goal statement: "I am so happy to have lost 20 pounds in less than a month by eating well and exercising often. I look and feel great!"
2. Snack a lot.
One of the keys to controlling your hunger and limiting food cravings is to snack often. Eat 3 "big" meals and at least 2 or 3 small snacks each day. Try to eat every 2-3 hours to maximize your metabolism while suppressing your appetite for optimal results!
3. Find a fat-burning activity/sport you enjoy.
Try to find a fun activity that gets your heart pumping and makes you break a sweat. It can be anything from rock climbing to tennis. Try to find a partner who also enjoys the activity in order to help boost your motivation and increase enjoyment. Do your best to do the fat-burning activity at least once a week.
