How To Get More Traffic On Your Squidoo Lens!

Ranked #5,006 in Squidoo Community, #330,434 overall

How To Bring Traffic To Your Lens?

This is a very often asked question regarding Squidoo lenses.

I have asked that question myself over and over looking for answers.

There are many ways to bring traffic to your lenses and this lens will reveal some of them which I have experienced myself.

You also need to understand that there is an inevitable "Squidoo process" which is, the more lenses you have, the better and the easier the traffic. This would be due in part to your ranking presence on Squidoo.

However, there are other ways to bring traffic to your lens regardless of the amount of lenses you already have, and here are some of them.

I will update this lens as other forms of traffic will be discovered by me or my network marketer friends.

RSS Feeds

Getting Your Lens Indexed Fast

RSS will help you get indexed and generate additional traffic to your lenses.

What is RSS anyway?

RSS is a very easy to use tool for publishers and marketers to get their content delivered to the web.

RSS helps you increase your search engine rankings and drives new traffic to your sites.

Once you have created your lens, you need to wait for the Green check mark to appear on your back office for that lens, and you will be ready to RSS feed it.

RSS gets your content delivered, period, and it helps you increase your search engine rankings and drives new traffic to your sites.

Here are my favorite RSS feed sites:

Feedbase.net

Feedest.com

Feedage.com

RssMountain.com

GoldenFeed.com

RssMotron.com

Twitter

Speed up your PC

One of the first thing you need to set up if you have not already done so, is a Twitter account.

What is twitter? Twitter is a place where you can post what is called micro-blogs. It is called that way, because you are limited to 140 characters per post. Every time you post a link, video or text it will show on your profile page and all your Twitter followers will be able to see it.

How do you get followers on Twitter? Just browse around and follow other people, post interesting comments and links, in turn you will see people starting to follow you.

There is a twitter module right here on Squidoo. Every time you build a lens you can post the link on your twitter profile page and this alone will bring traffic to your lens.

Tagfoot

Tagfoot is a pretty close net social bookmarking, Web 2.0 site that you can really use to your advantage. Tagfoot is also a very friendly community which in my opinion beats any other in this area.

The first thing you will notice on Tagfoot is that you can post your lenses, blogs, websites, pictures, videos and so forth on your profile page. You can post them under different topics such as: Bookmarks, wishlists, news, videos, pictures etc...

Each time you post a subject you have the choice to just post it on your profile page or share it with you friend.

How to get friends on Tagfoot? by visiting other profiles. As you do you will notice that not only you can invite the person which profile you are visiting, but you can also invite his or her friends. Once you click on someone's picture or avatar his or her profile will pop up and you will be able to see all his or her posts and see if that person would be a suitable friend to you.

Tagfoot is also a give and take site, if you want people participate on your lenses, and blogs, you need to do the same with theirs when they send you a shared post.

I get tones of traffic with Tagfoot and like I mentioned above, it's only on beta mode for now!

Bloging!

You can set a free blog such as Blogger.com where you can literally post articles on your blog promoting you lenses. Blogger usually does very well on Google search engines and therefore if you link your lenses URL to your post this will give a good boost to your lens.

You can also have a WordPress Free Blog and do the same blog posting about your Squidoo lenses as you would do on Blogger.

Zimbio is not really a blog, but kind of between a blog and an Ezine.

You can post your lenses and blogs on your lenses on Zimbio. Every time you update your blog with a new article it will post on your Zimbio page as well.

Zimbio
Go to Zimbio.com
and register. As you do just follow the prompts and add your lenses blogs about your lenses.

Ezine Articles

Ezine

Go articles
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every time you publish a lens you should go to at least the two Ezine articles biggies and write an article about your lens with the same keyword title as your lens.

Those Ezine article directories are
EzineArticles and
GoArticles. Of course there are many other different article directories you may use as you wish, but these two should be a place where you should make an effort to systematically tell about your lens subject with a link on it. This will be a way to get traffic to your lenses.

For more information about Ezine Articles where you can add your articles to advertise your lenses go to
It's All About Writing

Other Social Bookmarkings

there is a direct Digg button right here on your lens. Once your lens is published click on it and post your lens there. All you have to do is write a short summary about your lens subject, pick a topic for it and submit it.
Digg wants to make sure they don't have too many duplicates, so they will tell you that your subject seems to be a duplicate, but just ignore that and submit your lens.

Stumble Upon is another very popular bookmark. You can post each of your lenses there at a click of a button once you have installed their toolbar which is very easy to do.

reddit
Reddit is a bit similar to Digg. You can post each of your lenses there. If you can make the first page you may see quite a bit of traffic on the lenses you made first page with.

facebook
With Facebook you can post your lenses URL's, photos, videos, blogs etc... You can invite friends and send them messages.
This is also another way to get traffic to your lenses as you post them on your Facebook profile page.
delicious
Just like other other similar social bookmarking sites Delicious allows you to register and post your lenses, blogs and websites. I do get quite a bit of traffic to my lenses with Delicious.

Squidoo Tools To Promote Your Lenses

Lensroll

When Your lens is published you can register on LensRoll.com and post it there. LensRoll is a lens directory where people can vote on on the lenses you submit there. The more votes the better your position in LensRoll directory.

Once your lens has been approved by Squidoo and has got the green check mark you can go to SquidUtils.com and ping your lens there.

SquidUtils
is an amazing tool with several features such as, links to all your Squidoo lenses and different accounts if you have more than one. access to lenses and groups, a list of different social functions and more... If you have never visited SquidUtils yet, you should make a point to go there and take a tour.

You can do ping your lens on SquidUtils every time you update that lens. You need to ping your lens the same day it was updated in order for the process to go through.
