Introduction
Hello fellow Electricity Consumers,
Electricity / Power / Juice.. not matter what you call it, it gets more expensive every year, and that will not be changing due to increasing demand, and decreasing supply capacity.
And...a large portion of electricity generation is increasing atmospheric carbon levels, and it would be wise to say the least, to be limiting this increase.
Below is a list of tips and resources to help you reduce your electricity consumption, which not only saves you money, it helps the planet be a better place too.
Tip Number 1
Only fill your electric jug with the amount of water you need to boil, i.e: 1-2 cups.
Tip Number 2
Insulate your electric hot water cylinder with a thermal wrap. This will reduce the amount of heat that escapes from it and reduce your power bill.
Tip Number 3
Close your curtains at sunset. This will reduce the heat escape rate through your windows, and reduce your electric heating needs
Tip Number 4
If you use an electric blanket, cover the bed with some pillows when it is heating up. This will insulate the bed and give you more heat for less power.
Tip Number 5
For battery charging use a solar powered battery charger.. its like using bottled sunlight!
Tip Number 6
Generate your own electricity then use as much as you like!

Tip Number 7
Use energy efficient light bulbs. Get 125 Watts of light and consume only 23 Watts of electricity.
Tip Number 8
Have shorter showers. Hot water heating can be up to half of your electricity bill! Even reducing your shower time by a minute a day can make a noticeable difference.
Tip Number 9
Turn if off! If you ain't using it, turn it off.. applies to microwaves, tv's, videos, heaters, lights, you name it.

Tip Number 10
Rinse your dishes with cold water. This avoids heating the water for the rinsing, AND the water that fills the pipe from your hot water cylinder all the way to your tap.
Tip Number 11
Use smaller appliances where possible. Use a bread maker for dough and bread; use a slow cooker for curries, soups, porridge.
