These ads and pop ups can eat up large volumes of unused disk spaces. They position themselves in inconspicuous locations inside your hard drives so that you are not able to easily locate them or even get rid of them. They usually do this by embedding themselves in your PC's registry and memory. The pop ups also have a large impact on your bandwidth, increasing your internet costs, and in extreme cases may even crash your system.

Installing a good spyware / adware Scanner and Removal Software

A good spyware scanner can effectively locate all the spyware installed and hiding in your PC and alert you of their presence. Good spyware removal software should effectively remove all the spyware that have been detected by the spyware scanner.
Spy scanners are programmes designed purposely to detect spies that might have accessed your PC. A good spy scanner should be able to search through the most hidden/embedded files in the drive.
Most spay scanning software are coupled to spyware removal software. Others do not have this spyware deletion function and instead they display logs of the detected spyware on the PC detailing the nature and location of the identified spyware. For such scanners, the details portrayed can be used to access and manually delete the spyware. Some products on the market offer scanning software for free, while only the spyware removal tool is offered at a fee.
Once installed, the spyware scanner can be set to run either periodically, or upon demand by the user.
