Taking Good Care of Your Reading Glasses and Sunglasses
As more and more people become near-sighted glasses has come out to be one of the daily necessities. But do you pay enough attention to our glasses is the question that will probably have an answer in the negative. ..but hopefully not!

Eye glasses are generally fragile. When we get an eye glass the last thing we want to happen for them is to get scratched or broken. It not only takes away our vision but can also prove to be quite expensive. The following are some of the simple and effective methods by which you can take care of your eye wear and can prolong their life.
- Always rinse off your glass with water before wiping or cleaning. Every tiny particle can be abrasive when rubbed across the surface of the glass.
- Clean your lens with eye glass spray, liquid cleaner or with just warm water. Gently clean the glass and rinse off any residue. Do not ever use any chemicals not specifically designed for the lens.
- Try to use clean and soft cloth to wipe the glass. Avoid worn clothing that may have embedded dirt in it.
- Never keep your glasses facing down. Keeping the surface of the glass face up prevents the glass from coming into direct contact with things that can scratch the lens.
- Store your glasses in their case when they are not used. It keeps the dirt away from it and also prevents them from getting damaged if something falls on them.
- Take off your glasses whenever you lie down.
- When taking your glasses off always use both of your hands. This will prevent bending the frames of your glass.
- Cleanse the perspiration or sweat from your glass as soon as possible. Sweats and skin oils can damage the frame finishes and lens coatings.
- Not only glasses, if one is using contact lens they too would have to take equal care of their lenses.
Following the above tips will help to keep your eye wear in great shape for years. But don't just rely on a single pair of eye glass. Having more than a single pair of glass will guarantee that you have a backup in case one of your glasses gets damaged. Just remember the more care you show to your glasses, the more care your eyes will get.
