How much does a Segway Scooter Cost?
Jezzzz, first I want to thank you for visiting this lens that touches on the Segway Scooter and how much it cost. The Segway scooter is a fascinating piece of machinery that is revolutionary in thought and mechanics. So, lets start by defining the Segway scooter. The Segway is a two wheeled scooter the is propelled by an electric motor. But it is more than that. The scooter has an sophisticated internal computer system that allows the Segway unit to balance itself on two wheels without falling down. This self-balancing electric scooter was invented by Dean Kamen.
The motor and computer in the base of the unit balance the Segway PT upright when powered on with balancing enabled. The scooter moves forward by a users leaning forward and lean back to go backwards. To turn left and right the user would only have to "Lean Steer" the handlebar, leaning it left or right.
In terms of speed each Segway PT comes with two operational settings, "beginner" and "standard". Beginner setting is set to 6mph/13kph, and the standard setting is set to 12.5mph/20kph.
Gyroscopic sensors are used to detect tilting of the device which indicates a departure from perfect balance. Motors driving the wheels are commanded as needed to bring the PT back into balance.
Segway has found success in niche markets like police patrols, warehouses and corporate campuses. Classification as a motor vehicle has been choppy to say the least. In some states the segway is classified as a motor vehicle but in some it is not. You would need to check you state to verify what classification the Segway would be in your state.

Does a Segway Fit in a Car?
It depends on the car. If it is a bigger car you may not have any problems. A flatbed truck would have no problem storing a Segway for example. Also, a mid size SUV with fold down seat should also not have a problem transporting a Segway. Mini vans are also reasonable ways to transport a Segway. Either way it depends on the vehicle.

Segways Offer - Personal Transportation
With the ever rising prices of fuel, and everything else for that matter, transportation can be an extremely large hassle. Driving a car has gotten to be one of the most expensive things that Americans do, not to mention it being bad for the environment. A new and fun alternative in transportation is the Segway. A Segway is a self stabilizing personal transporter that is designed to go any and every where. The Segway is a two-wheeled transporter with an upright set of handlebars that are connected to the platform. Though the vehicle may seem as if it would be hard to use or hard to balance upon, it's not. This machine is easy to use for everyone and practically does all of the work for you. The transporter is electrically run and the batteries can be charged using any outlet, even one inside your home.
To keep this phenomenal vehicle upright there are motors and computers that are located in the base of the machine. To operate the transporter users are able to lean in different directions in order to steer the Segway toward the course that it should go. The handlebar is made so that you use it by leaning. To go forward you will lean forward, to go backward you will lean back, and to turn right or left you will lean to the right or left on the handlebars. The electric motor within the personal transportation device can reach up to a speed of 12.5 miles per hour and a range of 20 miles. A traditional brake system is not used on the machine. Instead the motor is able to detect when deceleration is needed.
The Segways balancing feature was created on the basis of mirroring the way a human body is able to walk. For example if a person leans forward and begins to feel off-balance they will then put their leg out to compensate for this and make sure that they do not fall. With the Segway if a rider leans forward the machine then moves forward to gain balance.
If one were to choose to use a Segway as there primary, day-to-day transportation they would be able to do this. If a user does not have an extremely long commute to work, school, the grocery store, the gym, a friend's house, etc, the Segway is a perfect way to get from point A to point B, and everywhere in between. The device is best used if on a sidewalk, in pedestrian areas, and even on the street, depending on the laws of the city.
Besides being a great way to save on fuel and to help do your part for the environment Segways are also a great way to let you slow down a little, get some fresh air, and enjoy the scenery around you.
