How Would You Fix the Economy

How would you fix the ailing economy?
Join the conversation and have your say.
We tried bailing out the banks. We gave money to the car industry. So far, nothing the big boys (and gals) have tried has worked.
What plan of action would you choose to set this economy straight?
Everyone has an opinion. What's yours?
Would you print more money?
Cut taxes?
Stop sending jobs overseas?
Something else?
In other words, if you had the power, the position, and the ability, what would you do to start turning this dwindling economy around? What are the politicians missing? Share your best ideas here and maybe, just maybe, someone who can do something will heed your advice.

He can't do it alone, but if we all roll up our sleeves and take on our portion of national problem solving, we will become a new America. Or perhaps,a better version of we were when we were a younger nation. I believe President Obama has the ability to HELP bring change by virtue of his willingness to challenge the status quo. We can't keep doing politics as usual, and I think he has the ability to inspire the masses to participate more fully in our political process. Fresh perspective is refreshing change; but is also frightening to those who are unable to think outside of their own box. He has a big job ahead of him, and we all need to do our part to help him solve the problems that loom large on our horizon. It's not just his country, it's OUR country, and it's our responsibility to help do the work of bringing change for good.

His attitude will help because people will spend less time crying about the sky falling (and continuing to create a poor economy through their actions, or lack thereof), and more time thinking and acting positively. The economy hasn't become sour because of some mysterious monster. It's the result of all of us making independently poor decisions in large quantities.

No way. There's nothing President Obama can do to fix the economy because...

Lok the only way we will ever get our economy back to normal is to do the same thing we did the Industrial Revolution but this time we use green energy. The US would be come the largest producer of green energy. We would get jobs. We would be independent on foreign oil. We would sell the green products to the entire world to bring the deficit down as well as pay back the bonds we owe to China. I guarentee all of you that this will work.

he is unwilling to cut taxes and take the necessary steps to do so. If we had a flat retail sales tax, everyone would be forced to pay their share. All he is interested in is "redistributing the wealth" thus creating a society dependent on the federal government.
