A sign of the times, as they say, which is sad. Instead of making 'grin and bear it' type of jokes about the situation, we should be telling OPEC what we think of their gas prices by looking for alternative vehicles. Yes, the ideal solution would be an alternative fuel altogether, but for obvious reasons that isn't feasible right away (not everyone can convert their vehicle to use leftover french fry oil the way one dude did, unfortunately). However, we do have an interim solution available right now - Hybrids. Some of these vehicles are rated to get something like 500 miles to one tank of gas, which would be a bloody great savings if you think about it. There's also tax credits available for purchasing some of these, so that's even better.
